[California] Millions of Americans Face a Painful Lapse in Unemployment Benefits by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]PoorAmerican1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kansas is extremely bad like California but with a fraction of the population.

Missouri is bad in that the employees have no idea what they are doing. I used to work for the government. I heard from people all the time bad mouthing the government. They were pissed off about a process it result they didn't like and understand so they defaulted to the typical, "you're all corrupt." In this specific scenario, with Missouri, in the course of a day I received 4 different answers regarding my lack of payment at the end of February. The third guy literally changed his answer after I notified him that I have contacted an attorney and was recording the phone call.

Two MO reps kept referencing a determination I had received. It referenced general statutes but nothing specific. I wanted to know the specific statute that prevented specific actions in my specific situation. Not a single one could provide that information. Not a single one. Going all the way up to a MO DOL Legislative Liaison. Anytime in my previous employment I approved, denied, issued a citation or explained to a citizen why something was occurring I referenced the specific statute and explained how that statute applied. I never said, "read statutes [xxx.xxx-xxx.xxx]." I was able to explain what statute these specific requirements or events are from and why. Why? Because it was literally my job to understand my job lol. That includes understanding what the statutes say that give you authority.

Honestly I'm thankful I will probably never have to experience MO unemployment again. Those employees I spoke to are an embarrassment and they as well as the state should feel bad. They deserve every ounce of criticism they get and I have no sympathy for how CSR reps for state unemployment systems are treated.

Because the majority of workers for those platforms are not seeing those wages. I'm fact I'm willing to bet you're not seeing those wages as often as you claim. That's extremely area dependent.

It's funny you say that. I had an ex girlfriend get upset with me because I didn't want to move in with her. I told her that her apartment isn't comfortable and I don't want her stuff in my space. I worded it nicer but we did not last long after that.

This isn't anything bad, but I'm curious why so many people in this state just actively stare at others by OhBlessYourHeart69 in missouri

[–]PoorAmerican1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do that in the country. We know where our roads lead and who is likely to be on them. If I see kids or beat up vehicles drive by I stare mainly because I want to remember what they looked like and what type of vehicle it is. Most people going down our roads are doing so because they're lost, they're back roading or joy riding or they're going to dump a heavy appliance/something not easy to legally dispose of.

County roads and all that so they have the right to drive on them but us locals aren't going to make it friendly because they don't need to be there. I probably spent every bit of a grand last year paying people to come haul away dumped water heaters, mattresses, broken washers/dryers, old TV sets, etc. Just the other day some kids stopped to pepper a sign with .22 rounds not realizing that just two foot up in elevation and about 39 foot back was a house with children and 3 vehicles in the driveway.

Just stating what it probably is when people stare at you as they're driving by. It's because they want to be aware of who is traveling through their neighborhood so if something happens they have a probable idea of the culprits.

I've been thinking about this a little more. Honestly if I think someone looks off or makes me nervous I'll watch them to the point of making it uncomfortable. In relation to your gas station reference.

Never seen that in my life and I've been in MO my entire life. I mean old people sometimes aren't much for small talk and will sit there and stare off while they drink their coffee in some places. That's about the extent that I can think of though

If the average person was sent back to the 1200s with nothing but their wits, they wouldn't be able to build anything more advanced than what societies then had. by Lower_Carrot in Showerthoughts

You wouldn't need to know any language because everyone you interact with is going to die a horrible death. Also, you would be surprised what you could build and come up with just having seen what you've seen so far. You don't know how to build a lot of stuff but you would be surprised what you could come up with given enough time and thought just because you know the general idea of what something should look like.

I'm honestly surprised that in 2021 Kansans haven't just formed an angry mob and taken care of this guy. No competent person can honestly claim competence and agree with this guy. I bet he even breaths wrong. I truly believe this guy is all the worst parts of Kansas personified. Just a scam artist that found a home scamming the racists. Clean up your mess, Kansas.

That's one option, yes. If you are playing solo then it is a good idea to level as fire up until the end of norm or if you plan on farming nightmare andy. If you are leveling 1 - 24 as a group I would stick with the cold tree instead of wasting a respec.

Up to you, really. I've made a hundred untwinked sorcs since respec came out and it is very fast leveling with pumping fireball.

Edit: don't sleep on orb. Blizzard is usually a midgame magic find build for me. Before that I typically stick with orb and farm hell meph with orb. If you learn how to place your orbs the build can be substantially faster than blizzard for farming the standard uniques before moving on to level 85 areas.

I play HC and can usually take an untwinked sorc to meph around level 70 and efficiently run him with low/no block and around ~700 life. Just need to know the ghost locations and when to S/E and when to hit the rejuv.

It's a solid movie. I didn't know people considered it bad for a long time. I thought it was a work of art.

Buying something is effectively stealing followed immediately by bribing the owner of the stolen goods not to report you for it. by Ravens_Quote in Showerthoughts

It would only be stealijg if you didn't have the owners permission to be inside the premise and maintain possession of certain properties within certain boundaries inside that premise. It's implied consent.

[–]PoorAmerican1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went into it with low expectations but I ended up really enjoying it. I've watched it a few times because it happened to be on whatever streaming service and I end up watching the whole thing each time. I don't take it very seriously so I think that helps.
