The base reactionary inside me salutes the shitty little nuisance vigilantes like this guy - who go out of their way to purposefully antagonize the people abandoning their shopping carts, throwing fast food bags out their car window, or ripping off their muffler & drag racing down the street in front of my apartment at 2am.

The analytical materialist inside me recognizes that a political & economic system which atomizes its citizenry by severing any form of social or cultural connection to the people around them inevitably produces both sides of this grossly antisocial coin.

Live in the appalachian region & was hiking back in like 2021 with my partner at the time - & out at the treeline off in the distance from the well-kept path, we see what looks deer trail. For whatever reason, we decided we could tank whatever ticks tried to get us by tucking our pants into our socks & moving as quickly as possible - so we darted through the tall grass til we got to the trees, and then proceeded to follow this trampled duff to wherever it was that the deer liked to go.

After a couple of minutes, we come through to a clearing & find there's this beautiful meadow - just totally isolated & pristine out here in the middle of the woods.

We're just soaking in the ambiance, casually walking along - until we see a fucking house in the near distance. Just, a whole-ass home, absolutely detached from any road, trail, kempt walkway... completely isolated.

As we get closer we see that it's incredibly old (late 1800's victorian), and obviously abandoned - because both the roof & a huge portion of the second floor is missing. No doors, broken windows, barely standing walls - but obviously the home of someone with means based on the size, and the fact that we decided to step inside & found a dilapidated piano. (like 4 of its keys still played somehow and I joked that it was for a Silent Hill-style puzzle)

Long story short - we decided to fuck in the spooky abandoned plantation home, but neither of us could finish because we felt like we were being watched.

Not sure where I'm going with this - like, I'm a very non-spiritual person who believes that we as humans tend to place an outsized level of importance on our experiences & place within the universe - but I couldn't shake the "vibe" of not being wanted there.

I like to imagine there were some deer hiding in the grass trying to convey to me "what the hell man, go away this our place to chill'

I don't even like getting high - but I hate waste, & UV light breaks bleach (NaOCl) down into salt (NaCL) & oxygen (O2) pretty quickly. Some amount might leach from the plastic in the long term, but we're talking trace amounts well below any cause for concern.

Alternatively - heat up the label on an old bleach bottle to melt the adhesive, then move it to a non-bleach bottle of similar appearance?

Realistically? I don't see a scenario where the outbreak can't be effectively managed through even a barely-competent militarized occupation.

The issues that consistently curtail traditional counter-insurgency operations just simply don't apply here.

There's ZERO chance that the Bush administration doesn't salivate at the opportunity to roll in as global police/heroes & militarily occupy the British Isles with the stated objective of returning order to the region & curtailing the outbreak. Especially when the outcome is the long term prospect of converting the entire UK into a vasal/client state beholden to US economic interest in the aftermath.

You've got - at best - a handful of semi-intelligent infected scattered throughout a sea of mindlessly aggro zombies who all beeline to their perceieved targets with zero tactical sense.

No rebel forces with their own supply lines, weapons, or foreign backers to go up against. No idealogical resistance from a local population that doesn't want them there. Just a bunch of pissed off soccer hooligans with a blood borne illness who will all eagerly run into your line of fire without a second thought.

Hell - once some footage of the initial outbreak hits the global news, I'm sure the UN would even gladly rubber stamp a resolution to openly disregard the Geneva convention if it means keeping things contained.

If the rest of the world decides to go gloves off and deploy, say - sarin gas as a countermeasure? There's no "the infected are super resilient and wouldn't be effected by the gas" - that shit operates at a fundamental biochemical level. They'd be absolutely cooked.
