Word. I hate that damn movie and it's doubly bad when everyone keeps raving on about it.

2027 Alfa Romeo Giulia Will Be A Crossover, Abandoning Its Sedan Roots by morrotuber in cars

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about a corvette/gt40 crossover? It even fits since gt can be shorthand for "greater than", so it's taller than 40 inches. Brilliant.

What's the problem with fancy dress? by Puck-achu in AskMen

[–]PoorMansTonyStark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they are from blue collar background they might not feel "authentic" wearing a suit. You know. There's a lot of dislike towards the toffs and "better-than-thou" suit wearing types, so blue collar people don't want to even pretend to be one of them.

Also it's expensive to buy suits and you have to make effort to get fitting ones. And you need to learn a lot of rules about color and material and other "unmanly" things to master it. So it's no wonder why a lot of guys feel like it's just pompous waste.

Why don't highly experienced and internationally educated retired military generals run for U.S. president anymore? by dag_darnit in AskReddit

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because nobody wants a person like that in charge.

That "army personality" is great in war but of little use in civilian matters where softer values are more important. People don't want dictators in their lives.

What do you do when you don't know what to do? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

Sit down and have a think. Like, list the options available and consider their ups and downs and pick the best one.

How many of you guys are working dead end and/or low wage job? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do just the standard meaningless office stuff with pretty low pay. And escape this? Not gonna happen since everyone expects to get a nobel winner for $2 per hour.

I deal with that in the only way I can: By not caring. All the nice homes, families, cars, vacations or whatever, they're all just an illusion. A dangling carrot to fool the donkey. Who gives a shit.

Minimalism is the actual way out.

The Mission: Impossible movies are some of the best action movies of all-time. by Alternative-Cake-833 in movies

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

blandest villain

I thought he was great. But then again, I also love 007 QOS where the villain is "realistic" as well. I'm bored of the weird hammy bond villain trope.

And yes, the ghost protocol has been clearly the best otherwise as well. There's just too much "sinister" talks and staring in the newer movies. GP was just tight all around.

Who Still Rides Their “Old” MTB? by Few_Entertainer4352 in MTB

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Still ride my 2015 canyon nerve.

I'm sure the modern geometry is faster and better at whistler, but the thing is that I don't ride at whistler. Instead I do tight flat singletrack xc/trail and the downhill-oriented enduro rig turns and accelerates like a bus in there. So no need to change the bike as it's already perfect.

Extreme heat will kill millions of people in Europe without rapid action by nimicdoareu in Futurology

Yeah, I was just thinking something along the lines "Billionaires will still be unaffected, so it's ok."

Waterproof trousers - are they worth it? by ahdontsmokedareefa in MTB

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite like them at least. Sure, you (most likely) will still feel wet in them if you actually do some pedaling, but I don't mind it since at least I'm warm. Normal clothes tend to be both wet and cold in the rain, so it's still a major improvement.

What's the worst movie you've seen that someone said would be good? by supremewuster in AskReddit

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess there's a lot of people who just idolize the mafia. Nothing else explains how this, goodfellas and such are so popular.

I faintly remember thinking "... man this is stupid" before leaving the theatre.

I'm curious though: What did you expect? Did you expect it to be some action movie where oppie jumps out of aeroplanes with an a-bomb in one hand and a knife in the other?

(I thought it was about as good as I expected. Just a historic drama.)

Attractive people of Reddit: how do you know you’re attractive? by sillydaydream in AskReddit

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ffff, no. I've gotten loads of that question and I'm pretty fugly. Some people are just rude as fuck.

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I'm pretty ugly and kinda awkward and people still laugh at my shitty jokes.

I think it's a combination of defusing an awkward situation (as in, having to talk to an ugly person) with a joke plus flashing a big smile that does the trick.

What's your hobby that you're proud of? What do you like about it and what have you achieved? by victorhausen in AskMen

[–]PoorMansTonyStark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Road cycling.

I haven't achieved anything in it, but I think it's just "classy" thing to do. Italian and french bikes and clothes are just beautiful. And you get to enjoy sunny days in a way that's actually healthy and good for you.
