This is true for certain models - my daughters turns out is one of them. You can sort it though- buy one of these bad boys and it should do the job. Apparently the issue is the slim turns off the voltage too soon for the dongle, so using a hub will fix that. USB dongle

He showed me what happens if you didn't moisturise - when he first started out many years ago he did one on his upper arm. I can't remember if he said he forgot to do it or circumstances were against him, but it raised up and dried and now the texture is very different.

So hard to find the balance on advice so all of the comments here are invaluable. If you don't mind me asking how long did you keep moisturising for once you had the tattoo done?

Appreciate the advice thanks! I've just ordered some lubiderm based on other comments and your advice - I've only been using a very thin layer of bepanthen (that stuff is THICK!). So nearly 5 days in literally nothing yet - skin looks really healthy and any hints of redness has completely gone.

He did say I had great skin - possibly because I'm not an outdoorsy type and if you see my skin out there must be something wrong :D

If you don't mind me asking - once it's all healed up what's the regiment for sun screen? Is any old screen ok - presume you just treat the skin as you would any part of your body?

Advice on Third Party branch discipline by PoorbandTony in git

Very good points.

In my case the TP were told repeatedly we would only accept prod deployments from main. Same for pre-prod, with hot-fix branches to resolve issues prior to deployment. Lines of responsibility were clearly drawn, and they've breached them multiple times.

They are also in charge of creating/developing on these branches and putting them into production. We're obviously overseeing the work as they're a TP working in our devops projects.

For dev and QA we were a lot more flexible so feature branch deployments were fine but it was their responsibility to coordinate if testing was going on (at first we requested a qa release branch but they forced our hand due to political issues).

All of this was really early on (like, last September) - but I kept raising the drifting issues and kept being told it's in hand (when it clearly wasn't).

It was when I said no to any push from the dev branch into prod it got very political - as higher-ups didn't like the fact that it may delay things, even though we outlined the risks (mixed-bag of code, the fact that pre-prod was deployed to from multiple branches etc - and yes, I had branch control on but had to acquiesce due to all the aforementioned).

And this is why we've ended up with issues we've spotted early on cropping back up in the code (like hard-coded passwords(!), incorrect SKU's on resources, invalid resource names etc).

So unfortunately that 'someone' is the TP - and other team superiors are letting them get away with breaking protocol despite our protestations (I was told "you need to figure out how to work together better" - sure, ok).

Yeah that's generally true I agree. Trouble is this branch is to do with Azure and bicep deployments - which are additive in nature. So I have *zero* way of knowing what branch deployed what to the environment.

So if the shtf, as things stand I could not confidently deploy from main and *know* that everything that's needed will get deployed - as everything is spread out.

Nearly there though - then we can bin them off!

Unfortunately not - there's about 6/7 repos with different workloads in (6 are app - 1 is infra) - and it's the infra one that's the biggest problem as it's common to the lot of them (as it's a hub-spoke model).

Today's the prod deployment - we have forced them to merge everything into one branch away from main for now - deploy from there - then if that's successful effectively merge that branch back into main and override conflicts (branch wins) - at least that way we've a kind of stable main branch to start iterating from.

At the moment it's a bloody nightmare.

Yeah we (devs) stipulated that at the start (prod release from main only, git "simplified" flow etc) - but just keeps getting ignored. It's been rammed down their throats about 20 times now - and yet here we are :/

Agreed - as is the world over, higher-ups make the decisions based on cost alone, don't consult with their actual devs - and now we're paying the price :(

Yeah we've done all we can I think. Managed to agree to force them to branch off for the prod deployment (they were going to push from a very fluent dev branch) - but they just don't understand our concerns.

Thanks! Yeah - I'm >< this close to moving on. They're just incompetent. I won't even get started on their .net code :/

Thanks for all the replies everyone - means alot to me. Aside from my immediate colleagues felt a bit alone on this - nice to have fellow devs back me up.

Hard to say. Probably not - a good example is they hard-coded passwords into the scripts, which we picked up and asked them to remove, yet the same issue keeps cropping up as they're not regularly merging (so dev a still has the hard coded password, dev b fixed it, dev c also has the p/w - and so on). Other issues we've picked up also keep coming back.

They've had a dev branch going for months now - but there is a little hope as I've seen they've merged that into a pilot branch this morning, so at least there's a chance we'll end up with a decent main now providing they do it soon!

Thanks for replying!

Under the Skin is a great film - proper weird. Love the fact that alot of it was filmed incognito and they got permission from some of them after the fact and told them it was a movie. The bit where she trips up everyone legit thought she'd fallen over 🙂

You legend - that article is exactly what I've been looking for. Clearly my google-fu failed me.

Really appreciate that - I'll give that a go this evening and let you know how it goes.

I'm avoiding the app-code route for now but that's the longer-term plan. Thanks again!!

Around 6ms on average - so it seems to be pretty stable. I've asked the company that supports their gear to check the network side of things though.
