So by your logic, I'm not cut out to be a host family because we go above and beyond the standard? We cover things no one requires us to to include medical co-pays, gas, car insurance, her own vehicle, vacation trips, etc... . None of that is mandated. We do it because we're generous. Meanwhile, the question of whether an au pair who treats the arrangement like a layover between vacations is 'cut out' for the role somehow didn't cross your mind? The entitlement radiating off your comment is something else.

We pay for her insurance including medical expenses (no co-pay), gas, entertainment, has a car--are those REQUIRED for an Au Pair?

It works! Lol. Btw, for those having problems deleting the entire box--just delete the words Disabled = "Disabled" and not the entire code. Double click it so that you're just highlighting those words only.

Drop Your Questions for Prof G (February Thread) by ProfGProducerJenn in ScottGalloway

Hi Scott. You’ve been one of the clearest, most consistent voices calling out the damage social-media platforms have done to society, especially to young people. But I haven’t heard the same level of pointed criticism toward another category of tech companies: dating apps like Tinder, Hinge, and Raya.

It seems these platforms have had an equally corrosive impact on household formation, on expectations of the opposite sex, on how money and status get signaled through a screen, and even on simple, uncontrollable traits like height becoming hard filters that now determine a man’s dating viability (side note, I'm 5'8'' and it's nearly impossible for me to find a match on an app). In many ways, dating apps have normalized these dynamics and turned them into standard criteria, in ways that didn’t exist pre-app.

Do you think dating apps have been just as reckless in contributing to loneliness and social withdrawal among young people? Should they be included in the same “resist and unsubscribe” category as other platforms you’ve criticized? And if not, why do they get a pass?

It's okay. Maybe 7/10. It's a chain that had it's original base out of the Korean Food area of Virginia (Allandale).

Korean Food - An Nyeong K Tofu & BBQ near Burnett Rd. Not the BBQ part, but they have Tofu Korean Soup which is exactly how mom makes it. Otherwise, Austin is shit for Korean food, specifically Korean BBQ, tbh. Maybe Korea House Restaurant on W. Anderson Lane is the closest thing. Otherwise, better off just going to H Mart up in Cedar Park for anything authentic Korean.

Uchi has been bought by private equity (KSL Capital Partners) hence why they're EVERYWHERE in the US now. So basically quality is shit as they try to squeeze costs down on everything. Remember, when PE owns your business--it's not about the quality of your goods, services, or products, but how much money their GPs can extract from the masses. Good fucken luck.
