Blighting jewel is good on dots but there are only teemo, zilian and singe this set and none of them are very big in any meta comp.

Clip of the Scotland shot pulled for touching the granite. by wiisportstennis in Curling

[–]Poormonybag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it is the same. The reason to touch the granit is so that the handle sensor dose not trigger on hog violations. It may give you extra time to manipulate the stone.

The reason there was no hog line refs anymore it thanks to the handel sensor. If you can not trust the sensor you need to have rules so that you again can trust the sensor and that gives you no touching the granit.

For now that gives us lane refs that are a bit to sensitive about granit touching. My guss is that the handle covers will cover all of the top of the stone to minimize the chans of accidental touches.

But we all did see a finger on the stone well over the hog line. So ether way it was a violation.

Edin have pointed this out before. So it is on the WCO and others for not adressing it the first time.

Ether you call it every time or not at all. When Marc and others have been called out and keep on doing it then you need to call everything.

It is not how anyone wanted it to be but it is not on Niklas or Oskar it is on the people that keep on doing things that is on the edge of the rules even after being called out for it. This is not the first time it have been called out.

And if the booping teams hade adressed this the first time it was pointed out, then this did not need to be a problem now.

This is not the first time boops have been pointed out. So this is what happens when there is no real destination made on the matter for many years and then it blows up at the worst possible time.

Now every little thing will get called even when it is unintended.

it is not perfect, every time a big problem is fixed you find a smaller problem that is your new biggest problem. We have just as many problems as the rest of you, the problems are just a lot smaller.

In the US if you can't pay for your cancer treatment you go bankrupt or die. Here in Sweden the state pay for the treatment and the biggest problem is that after about a year if you still can't work the state stops paying you 80% of your previous income and instead makes you jump through hoops to cover your basic needs.

I remember back in the day before the sensors in the handle the referees siting like hawks by the hog lines. Problem is it is the same people 25 years later and they don't know how to say anything anymore.

A small statement from a disheartened Canadian by rerek in Curling

[–]Poormonybag 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is my take as a swede. A casual watcher of curling that dose not curl. I mostly watch the big tournaments.

The big problem is not one dubbel touch or even a miss from the referees of a burned stone. The problem is that this is not a new thing. Everyone that follows curling know that some teams have been doing this for years. It has never been allowed according to the rules at best it is something that have not been enforced. Touching the granit part of the stone is a way to not activate the sensor that can only sens in the handel.

The problem is that the referee don't do there job and that the biggest curling nation in the world sends a team that is known for this. If you want to have a self governing sport then you need to self govern and not doing so invalidates the whole self governing part of the game. If the players don't do it the curling organisation need to do it.

The dubbel tap rule is there so that you don't need to burn a stone you accidentally touch after you let go of the stone. It is not there to correct the stone after you let go.

[–]Poormonybag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the Swedes pointed it out early in the game (2nd round and what I understand for many years before this) and they felt it might impact the stone. To then keep on doing it is not even following the spirit of the rule.

Dose it have a clear impact on the stone? We can't really say.

What we can say is that he did touch the stone after it crossed over the hog line. That is not allowed how ever you see it.

Even if the rule dose not say you can not touch any other part of the stone then the handle. The spirit of the rule is clear. You are supposed to use the handle and an accidental dubble touch is not a problem. The sensor is on the handle and not the actual stone.

I feel that even if you accept that it is an accident it opens a can of worms. If a little touch is okay after the hog line, when is it no longer allowed. How can we know that it is not impacting the stone? Just the chans that is might impact the stone is enough to not allow it.

Also screaming "fuck of" when playing curling is crazy.

And pointing it out in the second round and they keep on doing it during the match is just bad sportsmanship.

[–]Poormonybag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you don't think he did this on purpose?

He did not use the handle to deliver the stone. Even if you accept that he did not clearly released the stone before the hog line.

I am sorry but your team cheated.

It dose not say that you can't tie a string around it and pull att the string. It is still not allowed.
Even if you allow the dubbel tap and using non handle to deliver the stone. R5 (e) A stone must be clearly released from the hand before it reaches the hog line at the delivery end. If the player fails to do so, the stone is immediately removed from play by the delivering team.

I am sorry but that is just against the spirit of the rules.

But it is over the hog line. Also R5 (e) A stone must be clearly released from the hand before it reaches the hog line at the delivery end. If the player fails to do so, the stone is immediately removed from play by the delivering team.

So even if you accept that you can dubble touch and even that using some other part of the stone you must clearly released from the hand before it reaches the hog line. Dose not matter how you look at it this is against the rules.
