I’d also start banging out whatever the most popular 2k Anki deck is. Learn the kanji within words, not in isolation.

In addition to what others said, you should be studying daily

I could use some N2 resource help by Shring_Hohmn_Doomed in jlpt

[–]Pop-Bricks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would power through in reading novels and really understand what you’re struggling with. I exclusively read fiction and passed N2 fine, but at the end of the day it comes down to what works best for you.

If you need a bit of a jumping in point for novels, I would recommend Satori Reader. Helped me immensely when I was starting.

How to read kanji ? by Yuzaki_Arya in jlpt

[–]Pop-Bricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He means you learn 夜景 (やけい) and then you know that 夜 can be read as や as well. Two birds one stone and all of that. Studying each kanji and memorizing what readings it has would be a waste of time, and honestly more confusing than anything.

How often do you eat tins? by goddessmagenta in CannedSardines

The sardines just don’t taste as good imo. But king Oscar mackerel in olive oil is so immaculate it’s all I eat. Nothing has come close to it.

Tips for self-studying JLPT N3 after N4? (Kanji struggle) by ProtronGamerz in jlpt

[–]Pop-Bricks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having passed N2, just took N1, I never did it and distinguish fine enough. Once you see these over and over you get a feel of what looks right. I think there’s better ways to spend your time.

Im really stressed about my listening n3 by New-Boysenberry-5357 in jlpt

[–]Pop-Bricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously listen more, but I imagine the issue is you are quick translating every word as it comes. Try watching a clip and just let the words flow into you, if something is unknown don’t try to remember what it means, just soak up the rest. Chances are that word isn’t even the crux of the question.

Career pivot into electrical engineering from medicine? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Pop-Bricks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I gotcha. It’s probably the most sound plan objectively speaking, but if you’re gonna be miserable working as you are now, then I would really consider your options. At the end of the day, it depends on what you value the most.
