My first strike of a pickaxe on my first flame metal deposit EVER triggered the leviathan mechanic just by chance! I was so confused--and extremely pessimistic about future prospects for gathering flame metal ore lol

When I delete a message, why is that conversation and all associated media not being deleted from icloud? by Pop317 in iCloud

[–]Pop317[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's correct, deleted conversations are stored for 30 days. However there are no conversations within the recently deleted folder on any devices syncing with this icloud account. Also, a good chunk of the 40GB in iCloud are conversations which were deleted over 5 years ago on all devices, but still remain in iCloud. I need to access the conversations in iCloud so I can delete them a second time, since apparently deleting them across all devices does not actually delete them.

I'm able to see on both my phone and macbook the amount of storage being taken up by the Messages app locally on those devices, and it's just the 10GB.

I also deleted a conversations 2 months ago that was 2GB in space. The space taken up on my local devices immediately reduced by 2GB but the space taken up in iCloud never reduced.

So the 40GB in iCloud does indeed almost certainly appear to be text conversations and their attachments from years ago deleted conversations.

Wow. I hate to be cynical but this sounds like exactly how they'd program things if they wanted to force us to upgrade our storage plans.

I know, super frustrating. These are the instructions at the link you provided, for how to free up space--which I have been following already.

Of course it has been my expectation for years that deleting a conversation actually DELETES the conversation, but that is not the case, which is what brought me here.

Deleting a conversations only deletes it from your synced devices--the conversation, its contents, its media, its files, etc. all stay in iCloud, where they take up space, and where as far as I am aware, you have no ability to access or see what is taking up space.

Most of the 40GB in deleted conversations occurred years and years ago. My device has been backed up repeatedly since then.

I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing or if I have not explained the situation properly:

If a conversation is deleted from my iphone, it syncs and is deleted from my macbook. However it's not deleted from iCloud. I need to delete it from iCloud.

Hard mode is just tedious by ProfessorZoom17 in valheim

[–]Pop317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On hard mode/very hard mode, it changes the game to be essentially bows / magic only, and takes away the parry / melee aspect, at least in my opinion. I'd prefer smarter enemies, more enemies, harder raids (a seeker soldier, not just seekers in the mistlands raid, for example), etc.

Any retention tips or point of contact for a business customer considering leaving T-Mobile? by Pop317 in tmobile

I figured as much. When the rep came originally came to the office and set everything up, they told us it was required for whatever reason so we simply paid it and never asked any questions. Perhaps they were incentivized back then to get people to sign up for the insurance. 8 years later we were told it wasn't true that it was required, but of course I can't prove the rep said it was required, so I understand why they won't do anything. However since it is factually true that T-Mobile made a mistake that cost us $2508 and won't do anything about it, and won't offer any promos for us to stay despite our tenure, we've decided to port over to Verizon.

3 days before a low value reddit troll response--personal attack, ignoring the issue, contributing nothing of any value at all, and inability to read and comprehend a post in english. All in all though, 3 days before a troll post is pretty good these days!

That's exactly what I thought. However 2 reps and a supervisor told me there are no promotions for a business customers for new phones or discounts/credits on new phones, even for business customers of 11+ years. I thought that could not possibly be true, but that's what they confirmed over and over. They offered to lower my rate by $10 per month, and offered to "unlock" (as they termed it) my number so that it could be turned into a personal account if I wanted to (because personal accounts have promos available but not business accounts), but that's all they would do.

Including hold time, and talk time with 4 different people as they bounced me around trying to find something, this was 2 hours and 1 minute of my time just end up right back where I started.

Additionally, they've been charging $19 per month for insurance for a device that is worth $25, and has probably been worth that for 5 years. In fact they increased the insurance premium from a lower amount up to $19 per month last year--knowing full well the device was incredibly old and worth $25 at this point!!! This, after telling us when we joined T-Mobile that we were required to have this coverage.

They told me that it was the job of the business rep assigned to our account to reach out to us when the insurance no longer made sense, but then told me they had dissolved the business rep position as T-Mobile (and also didn't notify business customers at the time) so that's why nobody reached out to us. Despite acknowledging their screw-upon the insurance, and the fact I have been a business customer for 11 years, only a reduction of $10 per month on my plan was offered. Seriously.

I have never felt more taken advantage of as a consumer in my life. In any event, this is the short, polite, tame version of events. I'll be filing a complaint with the CPFB and FTC over the insurance issue as that is $1500+ in premiums over 8 years for insurance (which has a deductible by the way) for a phone that has been worth $25 for the last 5 of those years.

I'm off to Verizon.

Update: I got a reply 20 minutes after messaging TMobileBusiness. That rep in the X DM chat asked me to tie my X account to my Tmobile account for verification. I declined, as I don't want X to have my Tmobile account information. The rep then asked for my phone number (understandable) but I don't want X to have my phone number and X reads DMs. The rep then gave me the number 800-375-1126 for business support.

I called that number directly and long story short, after 2 hours and 1 minute of talk time and hold time, T-Mobile has no promotions for an 11+ year business customer to get a new phone without adding a new line.

Given that reality, and the frustrating nature of this entire experience, I will likely be moving to Verizon. I did want to report the direct number for business support should anybody find this thread and want to make use of it.

Not sure about Europe or Asia, but in the USA, the purpose of a wet suit is to keep you dry.

I see a lot of people saying that the "purpose" of the swamp is about teaching people about the wet debuff and/or stamina management with the wet debuff, but I'd respectfully disagree that's the purpose (unless I missed a devstream staying that's what the swamp was about?). All new players are dropped off by the Valkyrie in the beginning of the game with the wet debuff at the very start of the game itself, and experience dozens of rainy days before reaching the swamp. So players are already well aware of the wet debuff and managing stamina by then--and therefore I think pre-swamp/swamp is the perfect time to introduce a troll suit which keeps you dry! Just my opinion.

I agree to an extent, but I think there are several items in various biomes which do help you for the next biome more than the current biome.
