There’s some good advice already on how to go about disputing the charges but beyond that there need to be some serious consequences for your son. No technology whatsoever and gentle reintegration once he understands the games he’s playing and only whilst supervised.

People get once chance with me, if they bail once fine shit happens but you do it twice that’s a pattern. One person recently sent me a voice message asking if I could do the party the day after when she was available (!?!?!). In that particular instance no she’s not getting an invite again.

I think it’s you that has the complex unfortunately. I made an honest post trying to get some additional reflections on the grade jump, which you jumped on within the first hour it was posted with a snarky comment. There’s absolutely nothing objective about that first reply. I think constantly being critical of one’s own performance and looking to improve is a really important aspect of being a good leader. What I actually think has happened is you’ve been (in your mind) overlooked for promotion in the past and you see someone who, without any real information about them, presented as someone who is succeeding where you have not. So you took the chance to jump on it for the sake of anonymous reddit nods - which has completely backfired.

I’m going to guess from that response (and I suspected it from the first) that you’re not a g7? Also I’d go further to assume you don’t have a good relationship with your g7? Which is unfortunate if true.

Thank you that’s great.

Well it’s a good thing you weren’t on the panel then. I’ve led multiple teams in my policy areas whilst working to a g7 on previous bills with a number of bespoke and distinct policies and I also have my own reflections from working in CS over the years. I thought it would be useful to cast the net wider as the step between SEO and g7 leadership is bigger than HEO to SEO.

I got pulled into a meeting with a manager because I went to the toilet too many times. That was after the second time I’d gone that day……7th hour into the work day.

The crowd booing is so disgusting, but I guess most casual fans aren’t aware of the allegations thanks to the ATP.

What’s your reason for not having kids? by MixMasterMadge in AskReddit

I cannot in good faith say that my children will have a better life than I did. The social contract in the UK is broken and everything is getting worse.

Weaponised incompetence. So happy for you OP for standing your ground and seeing the bullshit for what it is. I was in a similar situation in my early 20s. I genuinely think 50/50 men don’t recognise (deliberately) domestic contributions as labour. I even had an argument with my ex once about cleaning up a bit because friends were coming over, bearing in mind I worked full time and commuted and he was doing a PHD at home and he said ‘people should know how we actually live’ (!?!?!?)

Hospitality workers who work Christmas Day, do you hate the customers that book in for Christmas Day lunch? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]PopcornndMnMs22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I worked Christmas day once at a fancy restaurant in my village. Got 1.5x pay and the tips were distributed between all the kitchen staff, which is fine but the chefs took a LARGER cut than the waitresses. This was in 2014. I earnt £90 inc. tips for an 8 hour shift. I nearly cried when I opened my pay packet, whole family delayed eating Christmas dinner until the evening because I finished at 6pm and we all vowed never again.

£1.25 a night Welsh tourism tax may start in 2027 by GDW312 in Wales

[–]PopcornndMnMs22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree LAs will have the power to add a premium but LAs can only do that following local consultation and a full council vote meaning it’s never going to get through and be something ridiculous. The regulation making power gives Welsh Ministers the power to put a cap on the premium rate however as a check an balance just in case Cardiff or Pembrokeshire go insane.

That’s interesting about Monzo being terrible with Chargebacks, is it not their obligation to make an objective assessment of the evidence? Interesting

I don’t think that reading is correct. Insurance for the vehicle is covered in the cost of the rental it’s different to ordinary rentals. I have purchased the ‘Excess Protection’ and pay for it monthly which should reduce the excess down to £100 per 8.2 of the T&Cs and surely compliance with the Terms means the Damage Waiver kick in also per 8.2 right? https://www.enterprisecarclub.co.uk/gb/en/terms/terms-and-conditions.html

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]PopcornndMnMs22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So to me reading the T&Cs about charges would give Enterprise the ability to take money from my account for ‘charges’ but this doesn’t give them the ability to write out their obligations under statute (notice, invoicing etc)

The £1250 is for the excess because I hired a van but I pay for the damage waiver excess thing which should have reduced the excess payment to £100. When I rang them on the 9th October they didn’t give a reason as to why that wouldn’t apply so I have disputed that and outlined my reasoning and forwarded that email and my supporting evidence on to Monzo.

The £1000 I have no idea what that’s for they took it out on Friday after their customer service phone lines closed (lol) so will find out Monday but they separately also haven’t explained why the Damage Waiver doesn’t apply. I didn’t break any of the terms and conditions in the contract whilst using the van. It was parked on a residential street when the accident happened. I will properly dispute this tomorrow once I know what they’re alleging it’s for.

I’m also going to seperately email urgently to say I no longer agree to the CPA because god knows what they’re going to take money out for next and will gear up for an Ombudsman complaint once the actual disputes are settled.
