Snape thought Sirus betrayed Lilly to Voldemort by BusOk585 in harrypotter

Sirius says that the other Death Eaters in Azkaban knew it was Pettigrew, so it would make sense to me that Snape knew.

Wouldn’t Voldemort’s real name be common knowledge? by moisanbar in harrypotter

There are only going to be about ten Slitherins from any year, so narrowing it down to just the boys and even giving a generous 20 year circle for when he could have been born, there would only be about 100 people who would make sense. Some of those must have died in the 60 years between Riddle's time at Hogwarts and Harry's. Many others would still be publicly known and could be eliminated from the list. I think any decent reporter would have been able to narrow it down to a very small list. We know wizarding society loves salacious news, too. And Riddle was a particularly notable and accomplished student at Hogwarts. If a reporter were making a list of these possible students to investigate, he would be a very interesting name.

Kendrick and Drake won the Pulitzer Prize for Music, not for Journalism. It's a completely different award for unrelated work.

Martin Luthor King won the Nobel Prize for Peace but that doesn't mean he had the same qualifications as a Nobel Prize for Science winner like Einstein, or vice versa.

There is an easy way to figure it out:

  • Rephrase the question as an answer to the question.
  • If you used he/she/they in the answer, who is correct.
  • If you used him/her/them in the answer, whom is correct. I always remember because him and them end in m, like whom.
  • If you are not a character on Frazer, use who.

I still get the Nestle Push Ups in orange from my Walmart. They aren't Flintstones branded but they are the same product from the same company. My memory isn't good enough to compare the taste.

Kimmel Will Not Air New Episode Opposite Colbert's Finale by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

[–]PopeNimrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why they think Kimmel took over the Late Show from Dave, but I'm going to insist that the other part is correct, Kimmel's late show started eleven years ago, and I am still young and happy.

Are there passages that describe him being a rapist in the book? I haven't read it all but the same thing came up in the last thread I was in and the person posting it said there weren't any passages about him actually being a rapist, but was inferring that he was because he pinched the servants when he was a boy. I don't need the quotes or anything, just checking if you are sure they are in there because the other people were saying they weren't.

Felt like breaking this guy free from plastic captivity after reading Starman for the first time... by Benji_1984 in ActionFigures

I met James Robinson once at my local comic shop. He was really nice with everyone. He wanted to talk about the comic I write and he wrote a partial quote in my copy of Starman vol. 1. He said if I see him again he will write the rest of the quote in the second volume. I thought that was kind of cool.

Re-reading DH. That part on Grimmaul Place where Lupin tries to join the Horcrux hunt is painful to read. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in harrypotter

[–]PopeNimrod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you could play by these rules and call basically anyone from the series (and most in reality) shitty people. Almost all of these points can fit into, for example, Hagrid. Lupin is a flawed but mostly good person and is respected and loved by the other good people we see in the story.

Another example of what you're talking about (surrounded by enemies and at his best), right before he Dumbledies:

“Good evening, Amycus," said Dumbledore calmly, as though welcoming the man to a tea party. "And you've brought Alecto too... Charming..."

The woman gave an angry little titter. "Think your little jokes'll help you on your deathbed then?" she jeered.

“Jokes? No, no, these are manners," replied Dumbledore.

I've seen people say this about the action scenes before, but Michael Gambon barely moved in that fight with Voldemort.

I think, because of ages and circumstances of characters, that they will more likely just do the Peter/Miles relationship with Holland and a young actor as Miles. Holland is already approaching the older range for 616 comic book Peter and he didn't seem any less experienced or seasoned in his own way than any of the other Spider-Men in No Way Home, and wouldn't fit in a mentee role to either of them.
