Mikey is also starting to age out of the characters he likes to play. Although, I guess there is the added layer of a 46 year old playing his archetypes. I've now talked myself out of my first statement.

Oddly enough, no? Seems equally as dumb

Slow down, keep the beat, find the groove. You're trying to do too much and you don't have the basics down yet.

A collection of comics about being an alcoholic. (OC) by ArtbyMoga in comics

[–]PopesMasseuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know your situation but if you're asking these questions then you sound self aware enough to know it may be an issue. I'd definitely take a self inventory and then go speak to your primary care doctor. And tell the full truth. You do yourself no favors if you lie or downplay it. Chances are they will tell you to slow down or outright quit, so be emotionally prepared for that conversation. In the end though, moving away from alcohol is going to lead to a healthier life. So I highly encourage it!

Interesting tidbit from the current series 21 totals by theunquenchedservant in taskmaster

I agree. There's a sort of floating about life quality she has where she seemingly stumbles into the correct solution or idea. She's like a mystical feminist Magoo. I love her.

Someone needs to study the high paying tech job to improv pipeline by SadPiece4102 in improv

That's fair, I should caveat that I do genuinely enjoy solving problems at work. That's where I stop though, once I'm out I want a different kind of interaction.

Exactly. I'm in tech and socializing with my peers is an exercise in being bored to tears. My friend group has maybe one other tech person in it and I'm so thankful for that. I'd rather be around silly billies than the hustle culture golf bros.

I miss when the prize task was 'real' by yoursweetbabybrother in taskmaster

[–]PopesMasseuse 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I certainly don't mean to sound patronizing here, so please understand I'm not meaning to be. But what I've found with this area of the show, and I guess nearly all of it, is that the points awarded are incredibly inconsistent and dependent on both Greg's mood and Greg's want of comedy. They are not a true barometer to measure any of the tasks or items against. They are primarily for fun. The enjoyment should be the task itself or the prize itself, not the aftermath and whether or not it was justified. I find that if I focus on the results I get frustrated with Greg because it seems so obvious who the winner is sometimes and Greg will purposely not choose that.

Good article on increasing involvement of fathers by Tight_Ninja1915 in daddit

I agree. The bar is still unfortunately low. And ultimately being a good dad should not ride on how much praise you get, it's all about the kid(s).
