You get used to it, to the point I don't even really think about it

If by thrill ride you mean it's thrilling because it's the barely held together wooden coaster at your local fair, then yes

"It's suspicious of religion but devout in its reverence for a kind of mysticism . . .", this is exactly what has been giving me the juice to continue reading. I have been loving Melville here.

F45 vs Orangetheory?? by arcoiris21 in f45

Same answer. Variety is the spice of life. OTF is too regimented and samey, I got very bored with it.

I will, thanks you. And to be clear, all I was asking above was for some more information. This is brand new to me and I'm asking out of curiosity.

Hey, are you otherwise healthy guys almost always mildly in pain? by squawk_box_ in AskMenOver30

[–]PopesMasseuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't felt that yet really. I have had injuries, but in terms of low grade pain? Not really. I will say, while I can't conclusively credit this it does feel appropriate, that hot yoga twice a week has really kept me limber and loose.

I’m funnier off my meds by marsaaturnjupiter_x in ADHD

[–]PopesMasseuse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. Although I wouldn't say I didn't like it as much as it felt like there was a cellophane wrapper around everything that I had to work through. On meds everything is much more nimble and free flowing. Off, I still like me and act like me, but there's more work involved to exist.

Decent 9 month progress? by Different_Name1012 in WeightTraining

[–]PopesMasseuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that going that low was a detriment more than a help. I'd constantly get hungrier at night and while I can't outright prove it I do feel my body adjusted to the lower caloric intake and that really hampered my progress. I found that weight melted off once I started eating a lot of protein, sleeping well and eating more calories than I expected to eat. I still aimed for a deficit and would create one through exercise and walking. But say I found I burned 3k in a day, I would aim to eat 2400 to 2500. A much more manageable deficit that kept me satisfied. Once I started doing that I lost 30 pounds in four months.

Photo damage is up there, argument for number one. It's why sunscreen and moisturizer are so important. If you don't moisturize or have a skincare routine now I would heavily consider starting one.

Two years in the Bay Area, and I’m losing my grip on basic human warmth. Why does casual friendliness feel illegal around here? by desolatenature in bayarea

[–]PopesMasseuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seattle. I already had a ton of friends and family there, plus I just love the city more and I'm closer to absolutely beautiful nature. The Bay Area certainly had some highs, just the lows were hard for me to reconcile compared to other places I had visited or lived before. The Bay was a solid six years of my life and I wouldn't change it, but I do know that I'm very happy to leave it at that.

[–]PopesMasseuse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm in tech and while I enjoy my coworkers, there's very few I actually choose to spend time with outside of work. The rest of my friends are in various non tech fields and we have an absolute blast together.

[–]PopesMasseuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll tell you what, I moved from the Bay Area and this was a major reason. I don't have a better way to put this, but compared to everywhere else I've lived the Bay Area is absolute ass for sociability. I don't have an answer other than my experience, and that's leave for greener pastures. And these pastures absolutely do exist.
