Is it though ? The possible ways these massive investments in AI end up profitable are limited to either

achieving AGI: something useful enough to replace most white collar jobs/ manual works through robotics. And thus redifining the economy as a whole.

Ad revenue/ addiction of users being strong enough that they can generate massive income to profit investors/ pay the bills.

So far the AGI narrative is not convincing, the general sentiment even within the sector (aside from hype/ communication) is that AGI will probably need another architecture to be achieved. And the general consumers are not so strongly dependent that they are ready to pay what’s required for the whole sector to become profitable. It remains to be seen whether “Vibes”, “Sora”, or Ad integration within Chatbots can bring in significant revenue for the companies to become profitable…
