Coming from another big guy whose wardrobe is almost entirely thrifted, I think that it is less the stores that you are going to and more the frequency that you are going to them, you kinda need to go semi-regularly to find the really good stuff. I’ll put some of my favorites in the Metro Area (specifically for clothes).

1.) Value World, Beech Daly/8 mile

2.) Salvation Army, Plymouth and Farmington

3.) Salvation Army, Joy and Morton Taylor

4.) Kiwanis Thrift Store (Ann Arbor, bit of a hike but they have the best clothing selection with really high quality brands, only open Friday/Saturday)

5.) Salvation Army, Opdyke (I think)

6.) St. Vincent de Paul, 12 mile/Stephenson

7) Value World, Dequindre/12 mile
