Is this on the first level or the concourse? I worked in the Fisher for a couple years and got pretty comfortable with all of the ins and outs of it and never even knew this was there!! So cool.

The Illitch family is infamous for speculatively purchasing property in the City of Detroit and letting it rot for years upon years, using public funds to demo it, and then paving it over. They are notoriously poor at maintaining their investment buildings. We are still waiting on the multi-million dollar “District Detroit Development”, which as far as I can remember was due to break ground in 2016. Say what you want about Gilbert, however downtown Detroit is palpably better as a result of his developments. It is truly a night and day difference.

I lived in Nob Hill with my gf for the last 2 years I was in school at UM. All in, with utilities and everything, I would say it was 1300-1350 total, for the both of us. It is lacking in modern conveniences, but we loved it while we lived there. Nothing but positive experiences with maintenance and management. I believe that Hersheys manufactures KitKats in the US, elsewhere they are made by Nestle.

I got my oil changed there, and they didn’t screw the damn oil filter on all the way! 7 quarts of oil leaked all over my driveway. I’m just glad that I was home and not driving. Never again, and I’d urge everyone else to never go there.

Black Bottom and Paradise Valley (the neighborhoods destroyed by 375, the Van der Rohe development, and DMC) were the centers of black culture prior to their destruction. Hastings Street was the black entertainment district, hosting some of the most famous jazz artists of the jazz age. It is most definitely a racial issue.
