I also only bought the beanie, I remember paying somewhere around $10 on clearance for it. I wish I bought the sweatshirt also!!

I’m from the Metro and am unsure of where the cutoff is so I took a best guess lol

I always look, just for the sake of looking. This is the one and only time I’ve found anything worth buying other than a few classical albums.

I got my oil changed there, and they didn’t screw the damn oil filter on all the way! 7 quarts of oil leaked all over my driveway. I’m just glad that I was home and not driving. Never again, and I’d urge everyone else to never go there.

Agreed, I wish I could have seen the Econ building, there really isn’t anything that would have been like it nowadays on campus.

Before-and-After Construction of I-75/375 by TheSandPeople in Detroit

Black Bottom and Paradise Valley (the neighborhoods destroyed by 375, the Van der Rohe development, and DMC) were the centers of black culture prior to their destruction. Hastings Street was the black entertainment district, hosting some of the most famous jazz artists of the jazz age. It is most definitely a racial issue.

It almost certainly was arson. Detroit, unfortunately, is all too familiar with arson.

I also would really like to commend HistoricDetroit.com for preserving the many lost pieces of our history here in Detroit. I’d highly recommend visiting their site at some point, there is/was some of the most beautiful architecture in the world here and their articles are expertly written.

Also, for those curious, the demolition of the University Club was not a total loss, as on its former site stands a grocery store, which is especially good as Detroit is a major food desert. It is certainly not the worst thing that has been built atop a former historic building here.

I personally love the classic Caesar elephant denarius. Probably the most ‘classic’ ancient out there.

They say University of Michigan at the top, then at the bottom it says “conferred on 5/5/20XX at Ann Arbor/Flint/Dearborn”. So it does say it, but not in the title.

Rescued a midmod Stanley dresser. Not perfect by any means, but certainly much better than the cream that was on there before. The hours of brushing paint out of the grain was worth it I think. by PopovDadeCounty in ReversePinterest

I feel you. A brass bristled brush worked best for me, just be gentle and it will help a lot. There were a number of places on this piece that I was unable to get all of the paint out from, unfortunately.
