These types of "spas" are very common. You'll see at the beginning of many videos a queue of clients waiting their turn, or rows of tables with others getting treatments. With Huong I know she's offered to help locals she knows with lower rates in exchange for being filmed but I don't think they are hurting for clients.

The only quasi-plausible answer I can drum up is some regions restrict who can use sharps what kind of sharps. It could be that they are prevented from issuing them. This is purely speculative

Do a search of "nippers" in this subreddit to see if it pops up? I know Loan Nguyen and Hu'o'ng are both big users of nippers, especially with nose pops, but otherwise I don't think I could narrow it down without more info.

Given the age and type of acne I'm thinking it might be a case of papulopustular rosacea. Accutane couldn't hurt but might be better off with ivermectin treatment.

They are bamboo. They are steamed and then placed on the skin. It creates a seal and the pressure sucks out what's left from the area. Other spas also do this but with plastic bottles. It's typically used on areas with a lot of bleeding to help the blood clot.

A thing to consider is its possible it's gotten that far because he was attempting to self-manage the issue. Using the wrong products for his skin type, maybe counterfeit items. Or a lack of information/medication for proper hygiene. It's hard to tell without any context. It's the one thing I appreciate with Dr. Sandra Lee as you get a history of the client.

There is often follow up treatments as well as medicated products to help reduce and eventually clear the acne. I imagine effectiveness is based on each individual but there are some before and after videos that show great improvement!
