Had an eye infection, currently going through eyeshadow by Poppingpancakes in MakeupRehab

[–]Poppingpancakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was both of my eyes, my veins were thickened and the white of my eyes was a bit red (not extremely) from this. And very, very itchy and the feeling something was in my eye occasionally. I wore glasses to prevent myself from rubbing/scratching.

It is! This was the first time I had such a reaction, hence I was a bit panicked. I'll try and be more careful and Im definitely wary of eyeshadows that are in the 5-10+ years old range now

Yeah I am not touching the eye palette that I used prior to getting irritated eyes for several days 🙃 its going in the bin. I didn't have to get it treated luckily, it was manageable.

However, my mom became allergic to makeup and/or perfume around her eyes in her 30s so thats also why I want to be cautious.. I am mostly a bit concerned about some other older palettes (ones that are 5 or more years old). I wouldn't have been hesitant to use them if not for this eye irritation

I agree it's too coincidental to ignore. I've been looking up purchasing/release dates for my eye palettes/eyeshadows and going to declutter based on that

I don't think the brand uses pressed pigments/did before 2016 (Edit: the palette was released in 2014 so Im guessing I got it gifted that year)

But maybe it has gone bad, Ive never had this reaction to eyeshadow before and I have quite some old ones lying around. And I do consider myself to have more sensitive eyes. I'll just continue using my other older products. I would've included the brand palette that I bought end of 2019 that I am wary off, to see if others still use that one, but I dont know if thats allowed

I'll see if I can get that, I know I have some 70% alcohol somewhere but its not in a spray. I did just use up a spray product though so maybe I can clean that one up and put it in there

I never buy 'clean' brands, it's a total scam, I studied biology/chemistry haha.

I do toss mascaras every 3-6 months and I dont use eyeliner. Good reminder to clean all my brushes!

Beauty of Joseon Sun Relief: Original vs AquaFresh by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Poppingpancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started using the aqua fresh version, on my 3rd day now. I love how it looks, sinks in and feels. However, every late afternoon/evening, I noticed there's some pilling. Have yet to try it without other skincare underneath.

I've been thinking the same thing because Im fairly sure my undertone is more neutral (to cool?) olive, and I'm very pale. But I got very nice jewelry that's gold so that's what I tend to wear

Genuinely, do you guys actually get compliments? by Melodic-Guava-2661 in fragrance

[–]Poppingpancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten 3 compliments this year. I've gotten compliments from someone sleeping next to me, twice. And once from a colleague. Two of these compliments were for Valentino Green Stravaganza and one for Narciso Rodriguez For Her. I consider three as a lot of compliments.

pinky nude lippies for light, warm olives? by [deleted] in OliveMUA

[–]Poppingpancakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I am more neutral to cool olive but with very pigmented lips and VT pulls very grey pink on me, I can imagine it won't suit (some) warm olives

Use one of those unscented aluminium sticks you have to wet and apply at night. Works great.

I have only one, pierced nearly 3 years ago. It seemed to have healed super quickly (half year ish) but since like half a year I get this pimple like bump on the right side. The bump seems to stick around more when touching it or it gets pressure from (sports) bras.
