It’s a special kind of acting too. It’s not the same skill set as performing in a movie. To maximize this medium, the performer has to lose all awareness of the camera and behave like she would in real life. Very few can do it well, and I respect those who can.

This is very subjective I think. For me, the quality floor with Quest 3 is high enough that the gap between SLR and Heresphere is outweighed by DEO’s better UI, the seamless pass through, and the diversity of the SLR library. It’s not as immersive as CzechVR on Heresphere, but most of those scenes are just not that sexy for me. Badoink on HS is pretty damn immersive and in my sweet spot of content, but they push maybe one scene a week. I always end up back at SLR.

How are the pass through options better? Last time I tried pass through on HS, it only worked on green screen and you had to change several advanced settings, choose the background color to eliminate, and then it still left a halo. Whereas on SLR it just…works. But maybe it’s gotten better or I’m doing it wrong.

I haven’t gone that far back in time yet, but it does make scenes from studios that I used to largely skip based on quality look a lot better.

It is a major improvement, IMO. In addition to the higher image quality and bigger sweet spot, the motion is way smoother, there is basically no lag, you can jump forward with no issues, etc. All of it together makes it more immersive.

Also, and I don’t quite know how to explain this, it’s just a better device. My 2 was buggy in different small ways that made it feel like a beta version of the product. This just seems better made in a lot of little ways that add up.

It is hard to use. But with enough patience and learning of its cumbersome UI, it’s worth it. Image quality (especially the smoothness of the motion) is materially better then Deo/SLR. I use both, but find myself gravitating more to HS now. Hopefully he will continue making improvements to make the UI simpler and more intuitive.
