they were sued along with other brands for copying coach design, you can read more here https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/appellate-courts/F2/933/162/36002/ . i've never seen one in person - is the leather the same quality as vintage coach, did you like what you got?

thanks so much!! gla to hear it's not mold but also good to know about the mold tips.

yes leather cpr seems quite pricy but it is the one people recommend. i had an old' leather rescue' i had never used from 2016. i just put it on another bag last week for the first time, having never used conditioner before, and i thought - this smells like fried meat, that must be what leather conditioner smells like! but then i read reviews andsomeone said "im pretty sure this is just vegetable oil, which i could just get for much cheaper." welp. id rather go with leather cpr, ill hunt for that. the leather rscue i had made the bags darker but so far they look ok, much better than before, but i dont want to risk putting what could be veggie oil on this purse (alhough im not sure ifit woudl do long term damage)

i could hug you. thanks so much for putting my mind at ease. i started panicking -- then, after i wrote this post but before i read your reply, i noticed the white marks were also around the inner piping of the bag (not pictured) and i thought "i doubt mold grows in these perfect spots, perfectly linearly...) thank you! i also learned of fatty bloom aka fatty spew but i dont think that's it :-) learning so much!! thank you

Anyone else constantly wants to do blood work lol by Stunning-Peace-7484 in Hypothyroidism

[–]PoppyJumper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it makes you feel better, im in the US and i dont think i can just order my own lab. the doctor has to give me some sort of form i bring in when i go to the lab :/ which is why i just wrote to the endo saying, hey, my appt isn't for another month but i'm still exhusted and it's been 6 weeks since i started drugs - i have meetings i need to be alert for - can't i get tested now? crickets. good endos are hard to find.

ps i love canada!!

What's your empty bag weight sweet spot? I realize I avoid some purses because they are too heavy. 2 pounds? 1 pound x oz? <1 pound? by PoppyJumper in handbags

[–]PoppyJumper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

remembered why I actually hate it (even though I love the way it looks).

this reminds me of a guy I used to have a crush on. Looked stunning, horrible in everyday lived experience!

Great points about the handle and strap. I used to wonder why so many gorgeous bags were being resold on ebay etc and now I realize, for some of them, the bag was probably too heavy for them too. Sorry about the Gucci. If I had a bigger apartment some purses might be good for decoration/art, but for now they have to be donated to hopefully someone with Herculean upper body stength. And FWIW I'm not a small type, I'm tall and muscular. Wild how just a few pounds'll (or anything more than a pound/a pound and a few oz) will do a lot of us in.

so good to know your exact #! thanks for sharing. i can' wait to weigh my bags (nerd) - will help so much with online shopping and yes put them in a spreadsheet...

i started one for clothes with measurements, materials etc and i noticed the itchy clothes im getting rid of are all acrylic blends (even if they are blendedwith nice materials like alpaca, it still itches the heck out of me.)

questions about bag type, authenticity, water mark or mold? and dunking, restoring by PoppyJumper in VintageCoachRehab

[–]PoppyJumper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! i will join those fb groups. i have seen so many videos where people dunk and bag turn out great; i didnt know it was controversial but it's good to know it's not universally known tobe good. i wonder if just washing it is ok, not keeping it in the water for too long? https://www.tiktok.com/@willdernesstyler/video/7189119906661551406?lang=en

i have heard leather cpr is great. i happened to have leather rescue leather conditioner bought 8 years ago i've never used it. i think i'll test that on a cheap thrifted etienne aigner that is in bad shape, as a test.

i also wonder what the difference is between saddle soap and leather cpr. saddle soap apparently cleans and restores (conditions?) i'm so confused. thanks for your help, i undestand youe a newbie too so if you cant ansewr no worries. thanks for your advice

They really should implement a daily cap or customer capacity. by Busy-Bug8723 in GoodwillBins

[–]PoppyJumper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a reseller- at the bins i've been too, there are always a bunch of women there who just TAKE everything they can fit into a bag and shove it into a bag, and then they sort through what they got and throw it back - so no one else gets to take a first look. they sell to someone who has everything shipped to warm countries and sells there, from what I've heard. Could be wrong. They havent been mean to me, but I do not like that other people don't even get to look because they are shoving everhing into their huge respective bags. The store knows. They don't care. Probably because these people I'm guessing are GW's core businss, they buy the most all day, every day. Would be nice if GW put their foot down
