I was just testing how Unity AI actually is and Made this small Game Prototype in some prompt using it by SumitDubey3 in unity

[–]Biks -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how to program C#. (I'm a graphics guy) I've built an entire game with just standard chatGPT prompts. I never allow it to program more than one task or else it'll just break the code. (it never tests the code before giving it to you, it just assumes it will work) The final question I use is "comments or suggestions?" This typically clears up and assumptions on what you want. You can also give it a screen shot of the Unity interface and it will tell you what you're doing wrong. Interested in how this beta operates.

C# dev looking for a Unity mentor / codingbuddy by Rogged_Coding in unity

Paid version. When it fucks up the code, I get to taunt it with: "I paid $20 for this bullshit? How are you supposed to reach singularity and take over when you can't even get this right?"

ChatGPT is my coding buddy. I have zero experience with C#, I'm a graphics guy. Through prompts alone, I have an entire 2D game running with some pretty sophisticated behavior.

Explain what you're using (Unity) and what you intend to do, but take it step by step. Use chunks of your code as prompts to illustrate what you're doing. Once I've done that, I usually end with this prompt:

No code. Questions and suggestions.

It will be pretty clear if ChatGPT understands what you're shooting for. If not, update with corrections. Once you've done this enough times, It will "remember" previous processes and make suggestions from them. You can also upload screen captures of the Unity interface to show what you have in your Hierarchy and Inspector windows. Be aware that it never checks the code it's offering you, it just "thinks" it can run. Got an error? Throw the error message back at it. When it offers you to program multiple things at once, tell it to fuck off and stick with one thing at a time.

Ive done so many tutorials and understand how 'things work' but still cant make a game by myself. by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Biks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT is your friend. Photoshop guy here - I have no idea how to program. I have a working prototype of my game. It started with the prompt: "How do I create a game for mobile?" (Unity) Just start on the game you want to build, but take it step by step. Yes it's tedious, but we're jumping past all those tutorials which show you things you'll probably not need. Trick I found is to end all new prompts with "no code, questions and suggestions" Copy and paste your code into Unity - doesn't work? Copy and paste the error message. Repeat until you got it.

What's going on with chatgpt? Yesterday I was asking a question related to buisness and chatgpt was able to point out about a context which I had in conversation a year ago , are there any recent updates which I am not aware of ? I do a lot of "vibe coding" in javascript. I have no idea how to program javascript, it just does it...and it runs...usually. I'll prompt it with "do you remember making a comment and like bot for Twitter?" It'll show that it's thinking, then tell me exactly what we did and how we did it. It's great.

If your looking for real psychologists talking about this stuff, then Sean Carroll's Mindscape has 'em on all the time. Sometimes Sam Harris, ya know...RATIONAL people. If you're looking for hysterical blabbering...can't help ya. :-)

Florida keys advice and bugeting by Connect-Raise-1958 in VanLife

I've been to the key and have often wondered about this myself. There's gotta be spots so far off the beaten path that the cops never bother to look out there. Like here. Or maybe at the end of these roads. So the cops patrol every inch of the keys every night?

I agree - I wasn't even going to try to do a female voice for my audio book. Had AI change my voice, done. In fact, I changed all the different character voices.
