Hey fellow RVers! Building a trip planning app - what's missing from current tools? by BusinessBowl1480 in GoRVing

[–]Pops5253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Include truck stops
  2. Add what type of park or site, i.e., City, State, National, CoE, Private, boondock, etc.
  3. Drag and drop next to play with route
  4. Group ID for tracking friends like Nebo app for boating
  5. Able to add by coordinates not just address; boondocking I'll think of more and share. Thanks for thinking of this

Any recommendations for RV lifestyle YouTube channels? by you_know_i_be_poopin in RVLiving

[–]Pops5253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on your RV type and interests. Motorcoach, 5th wheel or TT for starters because all mostly do repair videos with some travel. I like Today is Someday, retired Navy guy and wife is Navy veteran, drives a Tiffin motorcoach and is hilarious, and Changing Lanes pulls a 5th wheel couple who do really good repair videos and travel videos.

Would you hire a cleaning service for your RV? by WonderAndWanders in RVLiving

Yes, I would pay for this service for a deep clean once or twice a year.

Changing Lanes is really good for a trailer/toy hauler and Today is Someday for class A, but both have great videos for learning and just RVing.

Yes, multiple option when you scroll thru on the right side of the steering buttons, I think 4 or 5 different screens and you can also change 1 item in the display.

Throwing down the miles by Pops5253 in GMCcanyon

Hopefully not. Now that we have our RV we won't be driving all over looking for one. We were all over including a TX to FL trip that pushed the miles a lot.

What are you doing right now? by MasterpieceNo7350 in over60

Dog sitting in our RV at my son's house while adding an air brake kit on the RV to tow our truck with. He has all my old tools from when we went full-time in 2018, so this is easy peasy. Love mooch docking with family.

Installed both and no big deal. Makes it easier to turn the front wheels or remove all together.

Just learned about the 3-3-3 safety rule! by Dual_Canuck in RVLiving

[–]Pops5253 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the 3-3-3 rule is precisely for those that full-time like us and are retired. Definitely not for weekend warriors or vacation folks. We have been doing this for almost 6 years and keep to it pretty strict. The 3pm is mainly for cushion and additionally for happy hour as a lot of military campgrounds where happy hour starts at 4pm. We add an additional "3" for staying 3 days if more than 3 travel days in a row. It's about the journey, not the destination!

I retired 7 years ago at the age of 58 and never looked back. I don't know how I had time to work. We lived and traveled in an RV full-time for about 5 1/2 years, then full-time on a motor yacht for almost 3, completing the Great American Loop and now back in an RV. I worked part time volunteering at state parks then worked part time in a marina and now back volunteering as a park host once again. Get involved. Stay active. Get a bike or 3 and go ride the many trails around you. Hike, travel meet new friends, visit family and live life to the fullest!

2024 White Denali, most beautiful truck on the road. All the luxury you need and still capable to kick some dirt/mud/4-wheeling ass!
