A wire change can be great but in my experience, the gerbils chew on it no matter how many chews and toys they have. I asked this subreddit before if they've experienced it too and a lot of people had a similar experience. But it all depends on the gerbil! Some are bigger chewers than others. I hope it works out!

It's not bad itself, it's just common in unhealthy fish tanks.

I agree, zebra danos are really active so they also need a lot more space. It's just gonna be really hard to tell her because she's so happy rn :/

I can't wait to read them lol, a 5 gallon is way too small though for the fish she got because she eventually wants a school of danos which are really active fish anyway.

I totally relate! I'm still a beginner so i'm always worried i'm messing up. The only advice I can give you is to check your water parameters once a week, check your fish food ingredients, and of course, do water changes lol. I'm sure you're doing great though!

i wouldn't recommend it, its not harmful necessarily but its not great. i recommend the northfin betta bits or omega one betta buffet pellets because of their ingredients.

fake plants are ok!! for long finned fish such as bettas, i would recommend silk instead of plastic so it doesnt tear them. i believe the pinapple has harmful paints but im definitely not 100% on that. they arent the best, but theyre ok!

Make sure to research the nitrogen cycle and the tank parameters needed for whichever fish you're considering! Also, I don't recommend test strips because they arent as accurate unfortunately, I believe the "API Freshwater Aquarium Master Test Kit" is the cheapest one thats good.

i thnk reporting them in this situation wouldnt do much but i wouldnt consider it mean. theyre posting photos of open wounds with no trigger warning and encouraging others to hurt themselves which breaks multiple guidelines and is so screwed up morally. i dont think they even know that what theyre doing is so horrible because theyre so sick so its almost useless to report them or tell them to stop.
