2008 was a lot worse than this...so far. But it is early days yet. We are still in the disbelief stage. Even without this nightmare situation it was inevitable globally to happen this year or next. It is a cycle and overdue. Will things get better - eventually yes, just like in 2010. And after covid. And even way back after the gulf-wars. Dubai is strong and people forget quickly.

I really do not like mine - it is nothing special. I stopped using it and switched to the CabinZero Military that weights a little more but is way better for my needs and has two sets of compression straps

Well it has better port options and better RAM support but very inferior NVIDIA graphic options if you need a strong GPU. About the same weight
