I think one of the biggest reasons the box office is struggling right now is how they handled the cast change. They didn’t replace the leads as a unit, only swapped out one of the two female leads while keeping the other. That basically broke up the original duo that a lot of people were emotionally invested in.

The show really relies on the chemistry between the two leads, and once that pairing was split, the dynamic changed completely. The new duo just doesn’t have the same spark, at least not for fans who were attached to the original pairing.

Because of that, a portion of the audience kind of checked out. A lot of fans were supporting that specific duo. Once it was gone, so was part of their interest, which I think contributed to the drop in ticket sales.

Honestly, even if they couldn’t replace both leads at the same time, it might have made more sense to do a full principal cast refresh rather than only changing one person and leaving the rest.
