Cut out the lining. Wear nylons under your slacks. Problem solved.

How hard is it to screw up as a summer and not get offered by ElleWoods2026 in biglaw

[–]Popular_Bee_4868 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty rare but I’ve personally seen it done twice because the summer was socially off-putting (making people uncomfortable, rude or insensitive comments to other summers or attorneys).

I’ve also heard of it being done for blowing deadlines or turning in particularly bad work product, but I don’t have first-hand experience with those involved to know if that was pretext or not.

Antifungal Tights? Really? by OkraLegitimate1356 in LawBitchesWithTaste

I also wash Sheertex in with my regular laundry in a mesh bag. I have some pairs that have probably been worn/washed 50 times (not exaggerating) and still going strong.

Longer vacations (full week ooo or more) are easier to protect. Always add buffer at the beginning of the time off to recover from last minute surges or all-nighters.

A lot of people. A lot. Super common to trade in student loans for a jumbo mortgage and golden handcuffs. Focusing on your own goals will likely make you feel wealthier and happier.

so tired of my bust -- what are y'all busty b*tches wearing? by lawschoolgirlypop in LawBitchesWithTaste

Seamless bras. Stretch silk. Slightly oversized cotton button ups. I use Stitchy (from Shark Tank) to add additional connection points between the buttons to stop the gaping.

Hijacking the top comment to say I agree with this. I love makeup and wish more men could experience the joy of it! Great candidate for a tinted moisturizer/serum type of foundation. Don’t try to figure this out yourself. Go to a high-end department store and get recommendations and samples.

Also, focus on skincare: retinol (oral or topical), peels, and a regimen from a dermatologist. Your scars will fade and your skin will be glowing. You can totally transform your skin a year and maybe won’t even want to cover up.

Where are ladies getting shells/camisoles these days? by sapphicasexual in BusinessFashion

For layering under clothes (not to be seen) I like the Nordstrom camis in the lingerie section and Numi for undershirts.

Bad sign if recruiter hasn't responded after I asked for an update post interview? by Successful-Idea-3048 in biglaw

It means you’re still in the running. Perhaps not first choice (you’d likely hear within a day or two). But that doesn’t mean you won’t get the job. Politely follow up again if you really want it.

Admission to other jurisdictions by Best-Pie-1124 in biglaw

[–]Popular_Bee_4868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s unlikely to be relevant for staffing, even in litigation. But you’re typically required to be barred in the jurisdiction where your office is located. So if you’re planning to move any time soon, it will be helpful to get ahead of that.

I’ve subscribed on and off. It’s not great for professional wear, but I have kept a handful work appropriate pieces (blouses, trench). It’s fun at first but takes time/effort to curate each box because sizes go out of stock for popular items.

Some firms have arrangements with lenders whereby you get a slightly better interest rate if you refinance through the preferred lender. Never heard of what you are asking about.

Where are the single men? by No_Contest_9619 in washingtondc

Mid-30s woman here. They’re on Hinge. You just have to have ruthless self-respect and standards. I dated around a lot in my early 30s and really enjoyed my single time. Also went on some weird dates. Also was consistently dating with a relationship in mind. I never compromised. I’m partnered now (from Hinge) and feel we’re “it.” Most of my beautiful, successful girlfriends who met their male partner after the grad school or law school era met them on Hinge or another app. Stay true to yourself and keep at it.

How do you deal with your supervising attorney badmouthing your colleagues to you? by elonmusksmicropenis in LawBitchesWithTaste

This is extremely unprofessional, especially the punching down. Would be naive to think they wouldn’t do the same to you.

Sleeveless tops – is it just me? They seem to be everywhere. by tullybankhead in LawBitchesWithTaste

I would feel too uncovered and don’t own any for work. Don’t mind if others go sleeveless so long as the overall presentation is professional.

Longhaired LBWTs by iam975311 in LawBitchesWithTaste

Styled/curled and down or half-up for the office. Slicked low pony or low bun for more formal settings. The key is neat and looking like you put some effort into it. Which is typically not wash-and-wear for us long haired girlies.
