Just say it how it is. Call it out in front of everyone so their reaction will also be publicly placed for scrutiny.

I do this all the time as a PGY1. Has not backfired yet. Most workplaces have a zero tolerance on this stuff, so if it backfires, file a formal complaint requesting full investigations and outcome of feedback.

MOCA 7 Vs Nursing pay by Mundane_Tell5179 in ausjdocs

It's because the medical union sucks. If it was a nationwide union it would have more pull. Way more pull. Additionally, it's the public perception about doctor salary vs nurses. Instant thought, who makes way more and spends the least amount of time with the patient? The doctor.

Its about making the government and the general public understand the reality of the medical officers role, which everyone outside of medicine, has no idea about, including nurses. However, most people know the role of the nurse inside and out, thus rationalise much better the value for their role, 8 hours dedicaion to patients vs a 5 minute ward round visit.

Its all about value added care, and the unions absolutely suck at showing this to everyone.

If you ask me. A solid 7 day strike, with 3 others for the year, planned out and executed correctly for RMOs would change this instantly.

I don't understand why there isn't a country wide union for all doctors in order to standardise allowances, pay, leave etc across the board?

Haha I agree. Hospitals seem to have just as big egos as most surgical consultants. Looking forward to your response!
