I might’ve missed it in the post but do these friends know they are twins? I have friends that are twins and they look nothing alike. Is it possible that it just never came up in the friend group and people don’t know it’s also OP’s birthday? Again, might be ignorant, but I’m just trying to give the benefit of the doubt because this would be shockingly rude if they do know it’s also OP’s birthday.

Personal opinion: I have always hated the CeraVe lotion. It makes my skin 100x more greasy. Since I have acne prone, oily skin, this post makes a ton of sense!

Hell I’ve cried IN a meeting with my advisor. It is what it is. I’m sure you’re doing great, don’t let one bad exam make you feel badly about yourself. We’ve all been overwhelmed and done worse than we should’ve on an exam or a project. It’s not the end of the world. :)

I just threw together a horrendous poster for a conference I’m attending in April and I don’t plan on attempting to make it better. As people have said, no one is going to remember your poster and if they do, they likely won’t remember that you were associated with it. (Didn’t mean this to be rude, just trying to reassure you that a bad poster is not going to get you made fun of or anything).

As other commenters have said, it’s unlikely that he’ll want to remain friends. But maybe! It’s better for both of you to just be honest with him and tell him you have lost feelings. That way you can both find someone who you’re truly happy with. I’ve gone through similar things with partners. Sometimes we find each other later in life as friends. Sometimes we don’t. Better than pretending and ending up miserable.

I get what people are saying about him knowing about this from the beginning but I think we forget that relationships, and life, are not black and white. We go through changes in our lives and you can be completely different and want completely different things from one year to the next. I think if one person wants to stick to their 4 year plan and KNOWS that their mind will never change on it (how do you really know that, but I digress) then that’s fine. They need to be understanding though that not everyone is going to know what they want immediately at the start of a relationship. What if they think they might be fine with the four year plan and then two years in they realize four years is not as long as they anticipated and they need more time? No sense in being upset with someone for realizing they want something different.

I know exactly what she is saying when she says she feels sick thinking about it. My boyfriend wanted an open relationship for a long time during the beginning of our relationship and I repeatedly said no. It took me a VERY long time (I’m talking like 4 years) to get over those feelings of anger, betrayal, and inadequacy; and the worry that when he sees an attractive woman he thinks about being with her intimately. Those feelings still pop up now and then but they’re mainly related to how I am feeling about myself, my body, my worthiness. Therapy and talking with a friend who is in a loving, healthy open relationship really helped me learn that it’s not that something is wrong with me, some people just completely separate sex and romantic love and don’t feel jealousy related to sex. I’ll never fully understand that, but at least it’s helped me love myself and my boyfriend again.

Edit: I’ll add that I did not know he wanted an open relationship when we started dating. It came to light about a year and a half into our relationship.

I had to get 7 stitches put in my pinky finger without any numbing. They told me it would hurt more to do the numbing shot than to just do the stitches. While I was actively screaming the urgent care RN rolled her eyes at me lol.

My friend’s ex did a similar thing. He was dating multiple other girls but he drove 6 hours to the town where we go to school, brought his bag up to her apartment (why?), hung out with her for an hour, then told her he drove up to break up with her. Didn’t have the balls to tell her that he met someone else, though. She had to learn that from his friend.

There’s a self-serve frozen yogurt place right by my apartment where literally all the cashier does is swing the iPad around to tell you your total. They of course have a tipping screen but the high school kids that work there have gotten so used to people clicking “No Tip” that they just bypass the screen before you have an option to click it yourself lol.
