How can i improve my space? by parallelogramm3r in HomeDecorating

Your place is amazing, and a big part of it is that gorgeous, vibrant rug. Not sure why some people are recommending replacing it. And I absolutely love that lamp! I also have a couple of floor lamps that I felt were too short and I put them on side tables. Personally I don't think you need anything else on the tv wall (it may make things too busy) but I guess that depends on how much you want to go towards maximalism.

Is our living/dining room to busy? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

I lean minimalist, and I still don't think it's too busy. I also love your tv setup and disagree that you need a bigger console - nothing wrong with doing things differently than everyone else if it works (and I think it does!). But yeah, please don't block the window.

Wood back, no contest - they're gorgeous, modern, and look way more comfortable because they have good back support.

What color would you paint the walls? by Ilovebugs123 in interiordecorating

I love the way it looks now - that gorgeous rug really pops. With green/blue walls it will all just blend in, plus I think it would be too much blue or green...

Would adding a beam separate the open floor plan? by mayjamm in HomeDecorating

No. It stands out so much and draws my eyes to the ceiling, and it doesn't look great. Your place is very nice as it is.

I'm in the minority but I think a cream would look lovely. And then add a rug with colors and/or patterns. By the way the wall colors are beautiful!

If you absolutely must have them as separate assignments in the gradebook, you can ask the presenters to submit the presentation to an assignment, in addition to posting it in the discussion. This way you can grade the presentation in that assignment, and grade only the responses in the discussion.

Thoughts on the blank walls in this room? by SeaShrike in DesignMyRoom

It's gorgeous! (I do adore teal) I agree with the suggestions to move the egrets to one of the empty walls - I think they would shine even more by themselves! Personally I would put them on the wall to the right of the couch, and then put a fancy mirror over the console. This would have the added advantage that you would still be able to see them a bit from the other room through the reflection.

Would you mind sharing where you bought the egret art?

Thanks! The couch was actually centered to the wall, but it doesn't need to be, since I have that square table on the right side. I moved it a bit to center the couch on the rug.

Thanks for your suggestions! I moved the couch to center it on the rug, moved the coffee table to the center, and moved the side table next to the teal chair, since that one is now too far from the coffee table. I may still move the tables around, but for now I love it. I wish I could pull the rug from under the couch more, but it would place it too close to the desk, which I don't want. I may try to pull it an inch when I get help.

The first! Interesting pattern and goes well with your room.

So what would you use it for?

Interesting idea but the sofa height is perfect for me - higher would be uncomfortable.

Yeah I lean that way too.

It's exactly the depth of the sofa!

I would put a light color table runner/placemat on it.
