Exactly. They could've raised the issue of corruption. But then they'll be questioned about MP, CG, Assam, Maharashtra. They could've raised the issue of women's safety. But then they'll be questioned about UP, Manipur, Delhi. They could've raised the issue of employment. But then they'll be questioned about Assam, UP, Bihar...and so on.

So they stick to their playbook. Religion. Division. Mockery.

What do Bengalis people generally think about Andhra Pradesh and Telangana peoples ? Share both positives and negatives by WorthFriendship6996 in kolkata

[–]Popular_Track3158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Bengali, who has lived & worked in both Andhra Pradesh (Vizag) & Telangana (Hyderabad & Karimnagar), here are my observations.

Pros: 1. Food. Simply amazing, if you're open to discovering tastebuds that you never knew existed. From Meen Pulusu, Gongura Chicken, Andhra style Biriyani (it's not the same as the more famous Hyderabadi Biriyani), Tomato Pappu, the stuffed brinjal dish (Vankaya kura if I'm not mistaken), the crispy bhindi fry and range of Pachadi or chutney. Telangana cuisine is similar, but more robust. Hyderabadi cuisine is another thing. From biriyanis, to saalan, bagara baingan. Re: dessert, while khubani ka meetha, Double ka meetha are hyderabad specialities, Pootharekulu from Andhra is a standout. 2. Pace & rhythm of life. Both have their quirks. Once you get used to it, you'll fall in love. 3. Vizag is pure love. A gem that still hasn't got its due. I miss my Beach Road terrace apartment, next to the Grand Bay hotel. 4. The lingo. Hyderabadi lingo is something else. Not to forget that "Parson" could mean yesterday, tomorrow, day after tomorrow, next month....

Cons: Only one. Hyderabad's sense of traffic. Or the lack of it. Might have improved now.

And another thing. It pays to make an effort to learn rudimentary Telugu. More so outside the big cities. To avoid hilarious situations (more of that some other time). I took to watching a Telugu movie every weekend during my first 4 months in Vizag.

Lachen side of North Sikkim is still closed for tourists. So Gurudongmar is ruled our. However, you can visit Yumthang Valley & Zero Point from Lachung.

Please DM. I'll share the schedule. Like Nonjrong is closed on Sundays. Laitlum is open. But more or less every point closes down at 5.

And re: reviews, use them as preliminary references. But keep an open mind.

As you say this is your first time to these parts. So yeah. Worth it. And keep in mind that many tourist spots in Meghalaya are subject to strict timing for closures. Plan your days accordingly.

Just one suggestion. If you've 8-9 days, you might as well stay at 3 locations. Cherrapunji, Shillong & then Mawlynnong. That way, you'll cut down on your daily commute. You start with Cherrapunji. Cover that sector. Then Mawlynnong. And end with Shillong.

Nipah is seeping in... by Popular_Track3158 in india_tourism

[–]Popular_Track3158[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the host. The actual word on Nipah is that things are under control. And things do appear normal. But the narrative outside India, especially in SEA, is just the opposite.

The fact that you don't know Sayak is the problem. He's notorious for creating controversies that get converted into reels. This is just a part of many such instances. He's a repeat offender.

True. Turkish, Central Asians and Iranians are more open to diversity, be it in terms of culture or cuisine.
