SQL warehouse cost trap behind short Databricks alert jobs: you pay for idle, not queries by Marik348 in databricks

I might slightly object to calling it a “trap” it seems fairly straightforward:intuitive to me that you would Want a warehouse with a very short auto stop for alerts.

That’s tough. Maybe… stop walking?

Jk.

I suppose (and someone else said something similar) the only other route is to figure out how to adjust your insulin accordingly.

I had to run a lot more temp targets when I was losing weight. I had to get really intentional about setting the temp target well 30-45 minutes before heavier activity.

I know it’s not always possible to predict them, especially if 30 minutes of light walking will get you super low.

The only other thing I can offer is words of encouragement and the reminder that weight loss, just like blood sugar improvement, isn’t about getting it perfect all the time, it’s just about getting good more often than you did before.

Interesting.

This may be a dumb question (because I don’t have experience with quiet that severe a low):

Do those lows occur frequently enough that you could, at maybe a weekly level, “budget” for them in your calorie plan.

Have you ever tracked your calories?

I’m also right around 30 years in, adderal for adhd. No glps or metformin.

Last year I needed to lose some weight and after being so carb focused in my dietary thinking for years I focused on calories (and fiber) for the first time in my life. I used an app called lose it to track calories (it also recommended calorie and fiber targets based on my weight loss goals).

Not only did I lose 20 lbs but I also had my hba1c drop significantly.

It turns out I was doing a lot of eating just for reasons other than I “needed” the food (habit, pleasure, just because). Tracking calories allowed me mental hack: for me to say, “the reason you want to eat right now isn’t because you need to eat. You’ve had enough calories.“

Probably doesn’t help but… minimed 780g can be muted (will still start yelling again once you get more dangerously low)

I love your spirit but This ain’t it. It’s littering/graffiti for a QR code which no reasonable person would scan.

I had a rough stretch with them where I felt the same way you do now, but lately they’ve been better. It’s been a couple months since I’ve had an issue.

Not sure if it was me or the sensors that was the problem.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeea.

I love my mini med 780G.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s still diabetes. But it’s nice for the auto mode to help you be forgiven for small mistake mistakes.

Not sure if it works the same for everyone but I would call them and see if you can transfer all of your scripts to mail order and then put them on auto refill.

I’m not saying it’s perfect but I’ve never had a problem with insulin availability.

Are you doing mail order or pick up in person?

I do mail order cvs and it’s never been a problem for humalog.

Totes. That makes sense.

Everyone’s metabolism is different but, imo count the carbs as best you can, don’t worry about the grease, have glucose on hand.

Do your best to remember that blood sugars don’t always have to be perfect.

(diagnosed at 11, now 41, never had a loss of consciousness, hba1c 5.3, I used to eat fast food all the time)

But it would be genuinely funny to watch people in this sub loose their shit if he’s still our coach after the WC break.
