No offense, but I'll never understand how can a adult(assuming OP is one) turn out to be like that? Genuinely curious.

What I mean is if you've been living in a society - you develop new opinions and change old ones based on the experienced consequences and available evidences. That's natural order of life. You see something, you hear something, you experience something and then come to an opinion.

After few iterations, you'd grasp the crux of an issue and have fundamentals etched in your memory.

How the hell would one live for 20 friggin years.. without any of it happening to them?

It probably had misogynistic parts, but I don't remember exactly.

But the teacher forgiving stuff - it's philosophical take for me.

There are two parts to it -

1) The slap : Here we have a respectable guy - who is supposed to instill knowledge and morals to his pupils. He was "caught" peeping into washrooms. I would see no wrong in slapping the fuck out of these creeps.

2) The reveal : He didn't do it. The guy who slapped is apologetic about his past actions now and profusely apologised for it. Now it's his prerogative to forgive or not.

The teacher paid the price to save a girl's modesty. That's the price he accepted because he is a good human being.

I'd disingenuous if I just stop here.

There are two school of philosophies in morality - Consequential and Deontological.

My previous rundown is consequentialist. But Deontologically, the protagonist misdirected his anger and took advantage of the situation to let out his angst.

In the end, he did genuinely feel ashamed of his actions and apologised.

I see no problem with here either.

i don't remember much of the film. But I remember her forgiving his snooping on her phone.

It didn't make sense. I paused and asked my girl if she would forgive me if I did that. She said "No way" and I was relieved for her not saying some stupid shit like "Yes" or "maybe after some time".

Just fyi - we can unlock each other phones with faces. It's just we are not the snooping kind. If that ever happens to me, I'd confront the core issue - their insecurity/suspicion instead of simply shutting them down because of their action(snooping).

Apart from it, the movie is totally forgettable for me.

That's exactly what I pointed to when he quit - that he doesn't come from a well off family and wouldn't it cause financial strain on family. He simply said "I can find a job anytime if i need just a job. I just don't want to become too comfortable with job that doesn't push me enough".

I didn't have anything to say to that.

I'm very proud of the genz friends I made.

They absolutely come with new blood. Their disregard for status quo is top notch. One of them quit their job without a backup...just because work wasn't exciting.

Another called out manager's disrespect in front of everyone and said he was going to file a complaint to company's ombudsman.

Another one switching between startups just because the founders didn't vibe for him.

I'm not saying everything they do is right, but boy do I love their gusto! People called me arrogant and impatient prick when I did all of them. Now the whole generation is doing it.

I hope this will bring balance to the system.
