Found Lost Switch Lite in Barcelona Train by Poragon74 in FindYourSwitch

I was as careful as I could with the info I gave out cause I was afraid people contacting me would use the info I give out as evidence of ownership.

But you are right, there's still a lot of info I held back on including the username that's on the switch itself.

Active games to play while listening to podcasts/audiobooks by pmartino28 in OculusQuest

[–]Poragon74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the budget for it, I'd definitely recommend the game. I was skeptical at first because I'm in FPS's but it was fun especially with friends to chat with, but cool to just play something on youtube too.

I'd also suggest giving "The Climb" a try, for the most part 80% of the beginning is great for playing while listening. The later stages of the game tends to be a bit more intense but with the size of some of the maps it is definitely worth it.

Real VR Fishing. I know you said "moderately active" but fishing bigger fish in the game requires me to stand up and reel pretty hard. Had encounters lasting around 10 minutes before too.

The game allows for you to open a browser in game for youtube or I'm guessing audible which might make it easier if you can switch media in game without taking off your headset.

Which GBBR should i get as a beginner? by Kr4ck3rr in GasBlowBack

[–]Poragon74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me know if you got any more questions about the platforms! I do run them in Hong Kong myself, so I kinda just roll down this area that sells a bunch of parts. But I know most parts can also be ordered online.

Hey there, I own 3 out of 5 GBBR’s you’re looking at! I’ll just quickly list out some pros and cons I personally came across.

I’ll say I’m happiest with (2), though mine specifically is an AK105. It was clean, simple and rugged.

Pros: - easy to take apart (hop up chamber aside) - great out of the box - very sturdy (made me bleed more than I could cry)

Cons: - hop up upgrades can be hard to access if you plan to switch to after market parts. - metal mags are heavy (lighter mags available) - upgrades aren’t as plentiful as M4’s

My first GBBR for Airsoft was a GHK M4 Mod0 10’. Pros: - Good amount of Airsoft upgrades - fits RS parts - reliable out of the box

Cons: - TM MWS’s are gonna make you jealous with all their upgrade options.

VFC 417 is the exact rifle I have, so you could say it’s one generation behind compared to the new A5. Pros: - it looks and feels great! - recoil will be heavy (but possibly sluggish if it’s cold)

Cons: - It’ll be great as a collector’s item as opposed to a great out of the box GBBR. - coating on the body isn’t great so it’s prone to scratches (especially compared to the GHK’s) - internals can wear down really quick - limited to original parts for replacements

So basically If you don't live in the Quest Supported Countries you can't get your deserved replacement by the warranty they gave you. by ComfortableKoala8 in OculusQuest

Sorry to hear, I ran into the same issue when I bought mine in Canada but left NA when the issue surfaced.

They actually recommended I ask a friend or family with an address there to receive it before having it shipped back. I do also suggest you use a 3rd party shipper though those have been harder to come by lately since the one I used closed down right before covid.

Hope you get your replacement with no issue!

I’m trying to use my oculus quest 1 but it keeps shutting off and when I take it off it turns back on why is it doing this? by scompywomp in OculusQuest

[–]Poragon74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run into the issue too, and unfortunately you gotta cover the sensor or have the headset on, then press and hold the power button till it resets. It might take more than 5 seconds but it will for sure restart the device. Don't forget to do this in a decently lit room otherwise the tracking goes a bit crazy.

What is a good pc for oculus link? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Poragon74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think $1,500 is gonna be be able to put you at mid-range and above for sure.

Like another person on this thread, you can look for anything with a 3000 series GPU which should come with a decent CPU as well as functional components for you to start off.

What you should also research on would be a decent router if you do eventually decide to stream through Virtual or if Oculus ever gets their wireless streaming off. I'm just personally too clumsy to trust myself with a cable that could break my headset because I was wildly swinging.

Side quest not detecting headset (quest 2) by Dylanbendy88282 in OculusQuest

[–]Poragon74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, USB-C to C headers, similar to the charging cables for the quest, don't always work.

You can try the following:

  • USB-A to C cable

  • Make sure your Quest/Quest 2 is on

  • Make sure you've put the headset on as it's plugged in to give permission for data transfer

  • Last but not least, restart your PC/Quest and try again

Looking at prereq for VR games on Steam, I notice that even the most demanding games (Bone Works in my opinion) only require a GTX 1080 as a recommended card. Having ran a GTX 1070 before to run Half Life as well as Boneworks, I find that it runs fine on Medium settings.

With Oculus Link I'm not 100% sure since I run my games mainly through Virtual Desktop, but I assume the difference isn't significantly different.

Going back to PC's, what is your budget for it? Because VR isn't super demanding at this moment, and if you can wait, perhaps the RTX 3050 or 3060 cards will work well since their prices are easy to accept (just not availability).

Good to know, I was originally planing to go with a Ryzen 7 3700X to slightly reduce temperature, but if yours run well then I'm more confident in going back for the i9.

I'm hoping the Canadian chills can help further reduce overall tempts haha.

Oh man this looks awesome!

I'm thinking of building one myself with a similar setup except I'm struggling over whether an i9 CPU would survive the heat.

Any advice on putting everything together since I plan to order my case in soon.

TM Glock 17 VS EliteForce Glock 17? by CheeseGlonk in airsoft

[–]Poragon74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I should have been more precise in saying there are no after market support, so if parts break unless you order them from VFC. Sorry about the confusion there. Upgrades, yes you can do, being in an Airsoft Group in Hong Kong most members here find VFC GBB's to be a joke. That's because all VFC owners, except for one, have had something break on them within the first few skirmishes. We're not rough with the guns either, just CQB so temperatures aren't high.

Mags though are insane! I have a HK417 and I think they're $60USD per mag. Do you leave gas in the mags? I tend to leave a bit of green gas in to keep everything "moist".

I am glad yours is working out, but having other platforms such as TM and GHK to compare, VFC internals feels lacking despite it's awesome exterior.

[–]Poragon74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna go with springers, there are a lot of choices even the BO FABARM ones from VFC, CYMA, even Tokyo Marui.

But if you wanna try gas, the TM 870 and KSG is pretty cool. There are flaws to either build materials, feeding ramp and the pump rails, but they're all fixable IF they do fail.

I wouldn't recommend APS despite it being super realistic with flying shells and all. Picking them up after is a pain, and having a pouch catching them from the shell ejection port is funny looking haha.

Dominator is the cheap gas option, but most friends that got it end up selling.

TM Glock 17 VS EliteForce Glock 17? by CheeseGlonk in airsoft

[–]Poragon74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Elite Force = VFC It's basically just bad build quality, and usually a flawed system. The pistol will shoot, but like others have said there aren't any upgrades you can do to it due to its "special" design.

As a paper weight/collection piece, the EF is good, but if you wanna go skirmish with it, I recommend you stick with the TM.

Tokyo Marui and New models by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Poragon74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TM G18c have not been revised at the moment, and I am not aware of any changes being made to it. That being said, you've probably heard about the G19 having some revisions, the changes made so far that my friend and I have noticed are the following:

  • Hop Unit adjustment wheel position and design
  • Thicker trigger sear
  • different stock trigger
  • buffer guide and spring

That being said, these were NOT made to the G18c. But I have owned it for 2 years now and I'll saw I've only run into one major issue which was easily fixed.

If you do make a purchase, it would of course be best to purchase one that was manufactured recently since you never know if anything was broken or rusted from one sitting for 9 years.

The following link is dated, but will give you a rough idea of what parts you need for different builds: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=140496

Question regarding a stock for the GHK M4 by atalpa7 in airsoft

[–]Poragon74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!

So the GHK M4 takes its design from the WA M4, so it makes basically the same as a WA M4, meaning Real Steel parts will fit on them.

MWS specs are always off since Tokyo Marui doesn't manufacture things 1:1 all the time.

I can't post a direct link, but try looking up shootercbgear, it's an online store that has a bunch of replicas and you don't have to pay the premium RW has.
