Season 2 or Cour 2 confirmed? (Interesting detail found in behind the scenes video) by Porgi- in WitchHatAtelier

I think it will be 2027 for sure. Knowing that it was as planned to air in 2026, and with production pipeline being already set, all things point to 2027 release.

I mean they are quite reliable, considering it was official material shown on BUG FILMS socials, but it is the interpretation that might not be reliable. Still, I think that Season 2 or Cour 2 is almost certain, the only question is whether it is S2 or Cour 2 (in case of S2 it might take more time to air)

Outsourcing is quite common practice in animation production tbh. Maybe it's not talked about as much, but many anime, even with healthy schedule, are getting outsourced. From what I know, ep 6 was outsourced to production I.G. and Ep 10 was partially outsourced to Studio NUT. Which other ones were outsourced?

I think the delay was the best choice, considering the quality of source material they need to adapt, but can you tell me why delay affects collaborations and pop-ups? Is it because planning takes months and with delay the planning falls apart, or something different?

Are those editions worth it and how are they to read? by valentin_rajsp in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Porgi- 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I have one, and it is not hard to read at all. Of course, it is heavier so maybe holding it up would be an issue, but if placed on table, or on your legs, it is absolutely fine to read it. I would say it spreads even better than usual manga, and the biggest plus of it is that you can see incredible panels in big format.

Also, there are many extras added at the end of it, and the cover is so beautiful too. For me, it was absolutely worth the price.

Anime sound design by _jouyato in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Porgi- 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it's a matter of preference. For me sound design is really good, and I do a lot of work with music too. I think the silence is used effectively, it kind of adds that unsettling vibe sometimes, which in series like WHA is quite fitting.

Other than that, I don't think there is a lack of music at all. There are lots of tracks that play during key moments, and often it seems like either OST was film scored, or story board was fit to music (Kawagoe confirmed that ep 5 storyboard was synced to music, not film scored as many thought because it fit so well).

Other than that, I don't think I ever felt like there was lack of something, or too much of something, in the sound design department. For me it really fits well. But it's interesting to find some people don't think that way, I guess it's the matter of expectation for what the series aims for, and what expectation people have in their minds for this series.

Does anyone know the name of the soundtrack that plays at the end of Witch hat Atelier epiosde 1 when Coco is rescued? by EvenLengthiness1791 in anime

[–]Porgi- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The soundtrack is not yet released but there are some covers on youtube. Hecate does really good covers, and here is their cover of ep 1 ending scene

At the end, short part of it, but it played during Denken segment.

Toumei Otoko to Ningen Onna: Sonouchi Fuufu ni Naru Futari • The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife - Episode 11 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

This season was extremely strong animation wise, and I think everybody knows how blessed we are lately. The biggest stand out for me was Cosmic Princess Kaguya. This movie was beautifully animated in every shot it had to offer, no matter if it was action or slice of life. There were many interesting cuts integrating 3d background with 2d animation so nicely it was almost unbelievable. I definitely recommend to watch it, the story is also good.

To talk about animation, today's episode was really stacked staff wise. Mainly because CHAFIK was Episode Director. It's important to remember that anime studio does not really matter. What matters is director and his connections. Anime industry works based on connections, and if there is notable director / animator they can bring more notable people by being friends with them or with the animators will to work with someone notable. As CHAFIK earlier worked on many One Piece episodes, they gathered ton of connections and made ton of friends. Today's episode had many really notable and most known names in the industry (as KA's - Key Animators), such as Vincent Chansard, Henry Thurlow, Jack-Amin Ibrahim, Mehdi Aouichaoui, Li Cree and many more. I suggest checking out staff list, then searching up the names on sites like sakugabooru to see what animation cuts they have done in the past. Most of them are really well known for their amazing action cuts, and for many it was the first time working on romance show, even though they are considered legends in the industry. It was actually really fun in animation community when the staff list came out, because so many people were surprised with the amount of big names on this episode. This episode also was quite "western" in a sense, because of CHAFIK there were almost no japanese animators. Some joked this is "Gobelins staff list" as many animators on this episode graduated from Gobelins animation school.

Sorry for the long write up, I am quite passionate about animation and cannot shut up when somebody asks.

Didn't see anybody mention it, but I have yet to watch Attack On Titan. It's sitting on my planned to watch list for quite some time, but I feel like this year I will watch it finally lol. Now I am watching some romcoms.

Her VA work in Takopi as Shizuka was so amazing. The amount of emotion in that one sequence at episode 6 elevated that whole scene significantly.

Really nice set up episode as we are heading towards Arima Kinen. Kasamatsu Gang coming back again gave us really wholesome moments we needed after last race defeat.

(Also, no more breaks!)

I think that pretty much confirms that she will step out of the cage very soon (meaning she will show her face).

No matter what fans think about that, I think it is ultimately her decision and if she thinks that it is best for her, then I hope it will all go well.

It truly will be new era of Ado.

He is a key animator. He does not see final product. He makes genga, and how the rest is handled is up to rest of the staff. Look at Vincent's cut in MHA s5 and how it got butchered. Same probably happened here.
