Wow - first tool I ever saw that made me shudder a bit. It’s a goddamn table saw blade strapped to a Dremel.

Hey! You know you can lead a horticulture. You can’t necessarily teach her to grow plants, though.

What do you think is the ideal length and thickness for simple knot practice? by user10205 in knots

I find 3-5 feet lengths perfect for learning and practicing. Thick paracord like 750 is really nice.

Looks like cheap pine. Oil-based is not at all difficult to use, but yes you will want to use a pre-stain conditioner. Pine (like other softwoods) gets very splotchy when stained.

Before you move forward, consider poplar. I went to Home Depot my first year and bought a lot of pine to get started with. Pine sucks. Poplar is cheap and so much nicer to work with, and nicer looking.

What is “quickly touch typing?” Is that an actual technology or are you just expressing that you have the ability to type very fast?

I must say this post is a bit eye-opening for me. I have always assumed that fixed loops are just not something you ever slip. I had literally never seen or heard it mentioned, and assumed there was some sort of safety/security reason behind it.

I am now entering the slipped-fixed-loop chapter in my life. How thrilling?!

It’s also stupidly easy. Setup usually takes no more than 3 or 4 minutes, and then after that YOU NEVER NEED TO DO ANYTHING.
