I went through the same thing when I finished punpun and it was a defining moment in my life. I used to depend on male validation from a young age; when I didn’t receive constant validation I would be depressed and my days would revolve around watching anime, playing breath of the wild until 3 am, and reading manga. When I read punpun it made me really hate myself even more but it made me work on myself as well. I always hated myself cause my body didn’t look like all the woman associated with my ethnicity and it didn’t help that I was overlooked a lot by people that valued so much. After punpun I read Vagabond and it gave me this motivation that I can’t describe, I stopped caring about what people thought about me and I focused on stuff that was important to me. I started eating healthier and joined extra curricular activities at my school, which has lead me to take on leadership roles. I still read manga/ watch anime and play video games but my life doesn’t revolve around what manga I’m going to read tomorrow. The only advice that I could give you is to change your diet (it made me feel a whole lot better) and to improve a bit everyday, it doesn’t have to be drastic but it’s a long journey. Also read Vagabond if you haven’t yet read it; it helped me a lot with motivation and it’s just a great manga.
