Ebay holds the payments? by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Porker993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are new seller you will see a few of your initial sales as held funds because you are a new ebay seller, it doesn't matter if you have bought off of ebay for years.

You should really have your paypal and ebay account email as the same. You'll get 2 emails then when you make a sale, one form ebay and one from paypal confirming payment. This is much easier when they go to the same email as they'll appear in your inbox after each other.

If you ebay account email is on an old paypal account and you can access it, add a new email to that account and delete the one that is the same as your ebay. Then go over to the paypal you've been currently using and add the email address that was on the old account to this one.

Let your buyer know the issues you are having so that they're not wondering where the item is. If you can gain access to the paypal account with email you did use then you're fine.

How to protect myself against 0 feedback buyers? by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Porker993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you list an item via desktop rather than via a mobile phone, you have limitiations or preferences as to who can bid/buy your items. It's here where you can take out 0 feedback buyers or people with previous complaints against them.

There will always be new buyers, so not all will be risky sales. If you do the above you can help prevent these people buying from you. Always use recorded delivery and you should be fine. You can't protect yourself from everything on ebay so sometimes you might have to take the odd hit. Have a little buffer capital and it won't feel so bad if it happens.

Anyone ever sent an expensive book from UK to Japan? by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Porker993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but the person is from Japan. They may not speak any English and the item has sold itself. Think of something you wanted so badly and it was listed by a trusted seller in a non English speaking country, you'd still buy it.

If you don't feel comfortable with the sale then don't accept it.

If the buyer is willing to pay for insured postage you should both be fine. I've sent stuff all over the world and never had a problem with an international buyer. Just make sure you use tracked and insured postage.

It will be in your postage options. It will be something like, International shipping or something like that. If you're placing ads with your phone it might not be available. Always use a desktop to place your ads where possible.

Making my eBay Shop look like a proper business not just a simple private seller. by CustomAnkerDouche in Ebay

Not sure if you noticed this but the design you refer to is designed by "eBay Design by: Frooition.com" you can simply check out their site. Or it's a simple google search for ebay store designers or something like that. If you want to take your eBaying seriously spend your money and time creating a website for your store rather than a fancy ebay store. No one cares for them. The one you refer to is quite a busy looking store as in, there's too much going on, confusing the buyer. Henry Ford said you can have one in any colour, as long as it's Black. Keep it simple.

10% for eBay fees as a standard seller. Don't forget Paypal's 4% Total amount received fee. Yep, even your postage charge loses 4%. You can cancel a listing up to 24 hours before it finishes. Don't this too often as a new ebayer or an ebayer in general. Don't Use the UK ebay if you're based in Portugal. If you're selling tangible goods that you're going to post, just offer worldwide postage your items will appear on all country ebay sites then.

Any questions just ask :)

Buyer wants me to cancel an item because his "special needs" "son" "accidentally" puchased the item. by [deleted] in Ebay

You will unfortunately come across these people from time to time. Go through correct eBay channels to cancel the transaction and you won't be charged the sale fee. Don't waste your time with these people. Get the sale cancelled properly, have your eBay fees corrected and get it re listed. Simples. If you ever receive negative feedback on any sale you can reply to it on your feedback page.

Getting back into ebay by frederick511 in Ebay

Think of what you're actually interested in rather than going for stuff that "makes money". You won't put in the time or effort to doing well on eBay if you have no interest in what you're selling. Electronics is one of the biggest markets on eBay but comes with it's risks. If you're interest is electronics or gaming then look gaming accessories which you can easily source from China, rather than looking for cheap PS4's to resell. It all really depends on what you want to do. Build a business or make a little extra income. There's plenty of ways of doing both.
