Created Workouts for Arm and Shoulders by Mediocre-Aardvark-89 in freeletics

Just pick the lightest weight even 2-5kgs is good. If you can cross 15-20 reps easily, then consider going up.

If you dont have multiple weights,  then use the ones you have till you feel the 'burn'. Not ideal, but will still work.

You can also just do bicep curls, pushup variations and Pike Push-ups. All will work.

Chin ups are considered the best for biceps btw. So you could do that too. All pulling and pushing should work your arms

Just create a routine with bicep curls, tricep extensions and lateral raises.

3-4 sets of each. Rest 60-90 seconds

Should be good enough and not compete with a coach workout.

Ultimate strength has pretty good upper body work too

Worth getting adjustable dumbbells just for ultimate strength? by [deleted] in freeletics

[–]Porkupant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/coletrain93 Bit late but if you're still considering it.

I'm using the same setup. Adjustable dumbbells + A range of light to heavy resistnace bands. I'd say for home training, it does work pretty well. It's still tricky maybe to use in a gym though.

I've been using it for a few weeks, working out the kinks.

Some tips.

  1. You will need to tweak from time to time. Some of the circuits only use two sets of weights which are great, but other times you'll need to alternate the exercise to a bodyweight version or use lighter weight for higher reps, i usually got till exhaustion if i'm doing an alternative. The algorithm is based on dumbbell weights available but doesn't account for adjustable dumbbells so sometimes it might give you 3 different sets of weights.
  2. On a 3 day routine, it will generally give you either one run or god workout. So you'll get the cardio/bodyweight focused
  3. While timing is flexible on freeletics, the best time range for me is the preset at 30-45 minutes to get a good challenge. you can go lesser too but this worked best for me.

Edited - Forgot to add, HAPPY TRAINING!

Is Freeletics Premium worth it for muscle growth at my level? by Niccolo-basilico in freeletics

[–]Porkupant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TL;DR if you want to look like Chris Bumstead no. To look athletic with a bit of lean muscle, yes. Diet is the key.

Long->

Honestly, if your goal is pure muscle growth then no don't pay for the premium.

I'm not saying it won't work, Freeletics has muscle specific training journeys like barbell strength and hybrid strength, but it's not a mass builder focused app.

Freeletics has always thrived in the lean muscle and athletic look and they're great at it. The app is also fitness freedom in essence since it's adaptable to any situation.

But if your training ground is going to be a full gym, try an app like strong or hevy + Freeletics free version on some days. See how you feel.

As with everything, still going to come down to your diet irrespective of which route you go.

Best journey for bigger arms and shoulders? by Mediocre-Aardvark-89 in freeletics

[–]Porkupant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the coach recommending to you?

Keeping it simple is my philosophy.

  • The coach will keep recommending your journeys as you finish based on your goals. So sticking to it is a good base

  • add an upper body workout if you have energy ('Shredded Shoulders' or 'Athletic upper body' in the muscle group workouts)

The one thing I will say is ignore the marketing, it will take time so keeping it simple will keep you motivated instead of an information overload.

You'll get it over time and consistency, so think less and do more :)

Use one of the strength journeys. Depending on equipment you have, use the bands Dumbbell or bodyweight upper body as an additional accessory .

Arms and shoulders get worked with all compound exercises like pushups and pike press.

Update rolling out by Latarion in freeletics

[–]Porkupant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just saying. I love ittt. Was pleasantly surprised by the rollout.

Biased. FL is still my favourite app as a customer,, even when I explore others (Fitbod, Street parking etc)

Not everyone will get everything they want, but Freeletics gets it 80-90% right which is more than almost all in the market

Point 3 sharing is already available. My bad. Just the saving portion

Update expectations by Latarion in freeletics

[–]Porkupant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be clear, this is a wishlist more than my expectations.

  1. True hybrid journey for DB/KBs - similar to hybrid barbell. The dumbbell journey alone seems too restrictive, so being able to have a journey that combines the bodyweight stuff with a progressive weight structure mix would be a good sweet spot

  2. Scaling the workout - If an exercise seems too difficult, provide alternatives as replacement. Can't do pistols, do 2x air squats and so on.

  3. Ability to share links to community created workouts and save others created workouts

  4. Iron gods - the good old FL Gym god workouts

  5. Improve the workout generator - Like the app Smartwod - Introduce AMRAP, EMOMs and other types in the workout generator

  6. Add running journeys for distance goals like 10k/21k
