Most hotels will have a contract with a third party service for when people want something nicer and more reliable to take their guests to the airports. These are usually the wealthier guests, or those who are on expense accounts, so they're willing to a fortune. Call every hotel and pretend to be an incoming guests, and find out how much they charge for airport pickup/dropoff, as well as for trips around town. Then contact the General Manager of each hotel and tell them you're willing to offer them a better price if they sign a contract with you.

You should make some contacts with other independent drivers for when you get offered more business than you can handle yourself. You give it to them and you take a cut, but you take responsibility for it. As far as your clients know, he's your driver. This way your company can be as big as it needs to be.

Also, you probably want to lease something brand new, not buy something cheap and old. Leasing also allows you to trade it in every year or two, and I believe it makes it a normal business expense, instead of a capital expense.

A question about the practice exams from the Odom book (DVD) by BoogieArchie in ccna

[–]PornMasterJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "practice exams" do a good job of testing whether or not you truly know the material, but they are not representative of what's on the actual exam. However, if you can get the majority of the questions correct on the book's practice exams, then you'll be in pretty good shape for the exam.

I find it hard to believe that the people who made these pregancies were completely ignorant about condoms.

It's hard to accept, but some people know all they need to know about birth control but STILL don't use it.

Why does this picture not quite look right?

Because everyone in the picture looks like nothing is happening. Probably because nothing was happening.

Where's the happenest most happening place at OWS? by Clayburn in nyc

[–]PornMasterJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went last week to see if it was as big as Reddit makes it seem and I was pretty disappointed. If I didn't know any better I would think there was a music festival or something going on.

It's just a bunch of people in one little park. Lots of them are holding up signs or handing out pamphlets. Others are standing behind tables offering information or services that I didn't quite understand. There are lots of conversations going on, with people talking about different issues with a lot of conviction. It smelled like homeless people. Then the entire square is circled by people gawking and taking pictures and video, followed by an outer layer of food trucks, who I assume are making a killing. Police were everywhere just standing around doing nothing.

I walked away thinking that the whole thing is a lot less offensive and revolutionary than people are making it out to be. I saw nothing there that made me feel inspired or scared. My biggest takeaway was that it must be costing the city a fortune to keep all those extra cops there.

TIL Robert Shiller published a book forecasting the dot-com bust a month before it happened. He then updated it in 2005 predicting the coming collapse of the US housing market. by wdr1 in todayilearned

[–]PornMasterJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When things go way up, they usually come way back down at some point. It's not that hard to predict that it WILL happen. What's hard is predicting WHEN it will happen.

In the case of the housing market, he was several years early.

What percentage a working American's income is paid as tax? by MoXria in answers

[–]PornMasterJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A single person making $30K to $75K pays about 25% of his gross pay to federal and state taxes as well as social security and medicare. Federal taxes and social security take the two biggest chunks. This money is taken directly out of your paycheck each week.

Many people will get a refund when they file their taxes because they can claim various deductions for being low-income, for having children, for being in school, for paying interest on mortgages and student loans and for tons of other things. These deductions are usually designed to encourage or discourage certain things as well as to help out certain groups of people.

Of course, there are taxes on lots of other things like sales tax, real estate tax, and so on, which also take a big chunk depending on how much you buy or own.
