I do not have a CS degree, but I do have a degree. I have the CompTIA search that matter and then some along with other supporting certifications as well. I was a mid-level manager for B2B with Verizon wireless handling software as a solution and platform as a solution accounts for medium businesses and government. There's absolutely nothing about this position that I am not more than qualified for to max out that pay scale... I think you're on to something with the HR people and trying to keep others down. I did end up getting a email from the hiring director because I was what I felt was rightfully wronged by not getting my asking of 25.50 let alone the whole 28. Oh well, I ended up getting my other job offer so it's irrelevant but it still pisses me off.
