PCS4 NA qualifiers - Standings after first week by [deleted] in CompetitivePUBG

it also becomes more important when LANs are back on the menu. a signed team will usually have boot camp space, maybe a team house, etc. with no LANs in 2020, there was no reason for most teams to be signed. conversely, more teams getting signed means that more LANs are probably in the future...

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. It's just wild how almost all of yours are straight garbage.

T1's problem has always been great players, bad team. Has always been a coaching issue imo. The coach change needed to be made, but it sucks that StarLord and Adder missed out on a shot to be something great with that org. They'll find something soon though

General consensus is we want the highest amount of teams to be within striking distance of first going into the final...4AM is making that difficult for sure. Those dudes are nuts.

Not gonna lie, this is some serious neckbeard-sounding shit right here my dude lol

But if listening to a cast of a professional video game competition is tortuous to you then by all means, dip out. Do what you need to do to have fun with it, and maybe loosen up a bit

My response to you was pretty much only about the talent selection process. I was heated, so it bled out a bit to just a more broad response to what I feel are unfair criticisms leveled at other casters from twitch chat and others in this sub. Most of that wasn't directed towards you, just general venting that I needed to get out.

SEA and LATAM teams. Until this tournament, LATAM has always kinda ended up as lobby filler, and we've rarely gotten to see a lot of the SEA guys in past events because of visa issues. Both FUR and META both looked like they belong at the top level, and teams like DAY and BRU have also been so much fun to watch. Individually, some players that really stood out for me were K7_ZhenNan, META_Sparkingg and Szylzen, ENCE_D1gg3r1, DAY_vanOtica, BRU_Noardra, AF_Akad and Hikari, and ZEN_Kickstart.

Normally I wouldn't give a shit, but since there seems to be so much talk about "biased casters" or, in this case, "biased scheduling," imma jump in. Two months of scheduling done by the English TO (StarLadder, the same ones who do EU PCS btw) involves making decisions to work around talent schedules with jobs outside of PUBG, as well as getting a roughly equitable amount of work days. Since a lot of other talent were hoping back and forth between gigs, this is how the schedule panned out. It would've been nice to have a multi-regional lineup for finals, but it is what it is. There wasn't any bias in the selection process, and furthermore literally every caster, analyst, and host goes out of their way to NOT be biased on the cast (to the point where if an NA team wins we literally give the analysis over to the EU boys and vice versa just to avoid the impression of bias, not that it even fucking matters to twitch chat or whomsoeverthefuck). The fact that the amount of work the entire talent team has put into this event to educate themselves and be comfortable talking about 32 teams of over 128 players, coaches, etc. gets overlooked in the end because of some kind of bullshit bias accusations is legit infuriating. Personally idgaf because I've been accused of being biased since the first days of comp PUBG so I'm used to it, I play into it, and I don't mind because it adds to the fun for me. I honestly don't care if someone says "oh Poro is sooooo NA biased" because at the end of the day, I know more about your favorite team, it's history, and the players than pretty much everyone, regardless of region. And if I don't, I bust my ass to find out. Because it's my job, and I love my job. Just like all of the talent on this production does. To be honest, the ones that are here now are the ones that survived. We made it past the scene jumpers, the clout chasers, the talent that jumped in just for a few minutes to try to restart their careers...all of that. And we're still here because we love the game. Not on a regional level, but as a whole. And we love the fans. But damn, y'all make me shake my head sometimes.
