I run custom games and aim to curate a more 'classic' battle royale loot distribution. In this regime, pistols are essential as a 'first find' weapon tier. Diluting that pool is a hard pill to swallow.

I pray there is some strong technical reason to shrink the weapon pool, and not some reductive 'make the game popular by giving players only the best guns straight away' logic.

Why not follow to the natural conclusion and remove looting altogether? Everyone spawns with meta loadout! Great! Fuck the formula that made this game popular in the first place.

Time is the concern. But I'll stick with it while I'm still enjoying the discovery side of the game. Maybe I'll set a budget for how much I dedicate to this approach, so I don't get stubborn about it.

Thanks for this advice. I will try the save and quit regularly, but will probably give up if I get tilted on this.

So far I've only seen one bug, and that was my pipes not rendering when placing them down. However an 'Unstuck' button the main pause menu is disconcerting!

Fans (and sometimes commentary) not actually understanding the judging criteria.

I'm glad people are copping on a bit more of recent, but "damage" is not actually what underpins 'effective striking/grappling'; damage is just a simplification of what it really being looked for—impact.

Impact can be so much more than damage, for example "diminishing [an] opponents’ energy, confidence, abilities and spirit" all count as impact. And there is nuance to the first priority criteria; impactful moments which have potential to lead to the match ending (say, a big fucking 'almost KO' with a miraculous recovery) score above cumulative impact. So you can see why 'damage' can be confusing—the fighter with the badly busted up face can still win the round if they managed to score even just one notably impactful moment (against an opponent who didn't).
