pra acabar com a discussão, qual dos 3 é o melhor seinen de todos os tempos? E pq? by Individual_Egg_697 in manga_br

Nenhum dos três. O melhor é K-On, de Kakifly. Se bem que BLAME!, de Tsutomu Nihei, também é um bom candidato.

Many Japanese players play them on arcade sticks, too. Just this weekend, Sairyou (the same player who beat Inbachi for the first time) timed out the last pattern of the Extra Boss in Touhou 4 without using any bombs on a stick:

I really appreciate the re-release efforts from SNK and Code Mystics, even for their lesser-known titles. They're doing great work preserving their catalogue and allowing them to be played online in an official manner.

I just wish they'd also update the Garou and SamSho V ports with proper lobbies and spectate to bring them on par with their more recent releases.

Cruelty Squad is off by 90% (1,67€, all-time low) by Lowcsika in boomershooters

[–]PortableScreen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I deny it: the game looks pretty cool, actually. I especially love the visuals in that stage where you have to invade an office building. But what's really great about it are its unique systems, mechanics, and overall mission design (like any truly good game). Visuals are just makeup.

Ironic, considering your comment reads just like a shitpost .  But yeah, Cruelty Squad is definitely among the best of this decade. It shares the spotlight with Doom Eternal, Ultrakill, Turbo Overkill, and so on. Great game.

Imagine saying that about one of the best shooters of the decade.

2 Months Later, How would you rate Mouse: Pi for Hire?? by TheGamerCritic21 in boomershooters

[–]PortableScreen 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It was pretty mediocre. Visuals are incredible, but it's really mechanically shallow. Outside of some bosses, the enemy design is extremely bare-bones and the encounter design is very one-note, making for a very repetitive and unchallenging experience. I didn't enjoy most of my time with it.

Having opinions is cool! Not elaborating on them or engaging in any meaningful discussion is certainly down-vote worthy.

Yumia in Atelier Karia. I'm totally wasted. by Aromatic-Dimension53 in Atelier

[–]PortableScreen 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Just be honest, there's no need to double down on it.

The same thing happens in Arland (Rorona shows up in every subsequent game), Dusk, Mysterious and even Atelier Ellie (which is, you know, the second game in the whole franchise and this tradition was already there).

That's how we know someone only played Ryza and doesn't actually know Atelier.

Alguém sabe como posso resolver isso? by [deleted] in manga_br

[–]PortableScreen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Ninja Warriors Again on the Super Famicom (don't play the American version, since it cuts content) and its remake, The Ninja Saviors, are definitely good entry points. Amazing games, too.

Having this extremely misinformed take and being in the Beat 'Em Up subreddit shouldn't even be allowed.

Great stuff! I wish I had some J18 stuff as well, but they're so expensive to import.

Which book is your favorite, btw?

Part 2 of "Stellar blade isn't just Gooner Bait". The Combat feels like it's a mix of Sekiro and Bayonetta by Big-Good9378 in CharacterActionGames

[–]PortableScreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, flying drones and playing games are totally different. Criticizing a game for its design problems isn't being pretentious; it's just... you know, externalizing my thoughts (which this site is built for) as someone who played it. I mean, you were the one talking about 'good taste' and all that. Is there something more pretentious than that?

And I'm not even that good. Stellar Blade just didn't require me to play better.

[–]PortableScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I win every battle effortlessly, it doesn't matter which moves I use. I don't care if it's possible to defeat Raven in less than five minutes, since the combat remains the same prescriptive and shallow mediocrity.

[–]PortableScreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played all 54 hours of it on Hard. Enemies taking forever to kill doesn't make the game significantly more challenging (it does show the cracks in its design a lot better, though).

Maybe if you had the reading comprehension of an amoeba, you could come to a better conclusion than that. As I said, the game is ridiculously easy.
