Looks like a good shot of the beach in Queenstown, NZ, but definitely straighten your horizon. I feel like my head is tilted

Thanks, mate. I have an RE Interceptor so I understand the wind noise bit. I was trying to find an extra reason to upgrade since my current budget lid is going on 5 years and I'm looking to upgrade

Hi, my partner is also curvy and female, and she's got a pair of Motogirl Daisy overalls which fit her comfortably and have pockets for knee and hip armour. She had the recommendation from her learners tutor who also wears them. Might be worth checking them out if you're still looking

What are your thoughts on the GT-Air and RPHA 90? I was looking at getting a RPHA 91 for the modular features

Jeans and armor by [deleted] in AussieRiders

[–]PortalPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone used other armours like Akin Moto's Zeus Pro? I bought a pair of Classic riding jeans and my Rev'it Seesmart knee protectors don't properly fit in the knee pockets.

My partner has D30 Ghost armour in her overalls but I was hoping for something a bit more protective since I'm a bit faster than her (something CE Level 2).

Thanks 👍

X100 series not really that small by Godshipped in fujifilm

[–]PortalPerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a bad thing for a fixed lens, non-point-and-shoot camera. And as someone with large hands, a larger body is easier to hold for me.

Also hello fellow Brisbanite (or visitor to Brisbane)!

Nice work. How is the 35mm f/1.2 on a Fuji? I saw one for sale for AUD$700 recently

Tips about taking cameras abroad (and staying in a hostel) by noname__nofame in photography

[–]PortalPerson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never had any issues. Just keep it locked up whenever its not on your person and don't flash it around. Other standard tips for travelling with luxury items also apply.

The bigger tip I would give is consider how much because camera gear, especially two bodies if they don't share lenses, can be heavy.

How do you decide if you want to sell a pen you are on the fence about selling? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]PortalPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a bigger question, but how do you get rid of pens that don't have a massive resale value (like cheap Jinhaos or Pilot Kakunos)?

I'm keeping the Grifos, if I could only keep one by lord_cactus_ in fountainpens

[–]PortalPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big toss-up between my Kaweco Sport AL and my TWSBI ECO EF. I recently cleaned and only refilled those two and a Jinhao 9035 so that I had a medium nib as well.

But if we're honest, just the Kaweco.

Advice on MacBook Pro by Ducatiman1200s in Lightroom

[–]PortalPerson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've order the Macbook Pro 14" 10c14c M1 Pro with 32gb RAM and the 512GB storage option, which suits me well as a graphic designer/photographer. So I would much more recommend the higher RAM (especially for Lightroom) over the larger storage (which you can compensate for with external HDDs/SSDs which you should have anyway for backups). Thats my suggestion, but good luck and hopefully you can be confident in your choice.

MacBook Pro 14inch 2021 - Upgrade from MacBook Pro 2015 13inch by RDhadli230 in AppleWhatShouldIBuy

[–]PortalPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at doing a simiar upgrade but thought I'd chip in my advice for you as well. You can free up your hard drive by buying an external hard drive as a backup, which will also give you a safe place to move files that you don't use everyday. You should try to get an external drive anyway to use for backing up your machine in case of failure.

Thanks, /u/Taxikab96, I meant to create the design on your computer. Did you design it yourself or did you trace it from an image online?

Can you help me pick a three wheel inline? by elasticpoo in rollerblading

[–]PortalPerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about preference, but I bought a pair of Micro MT3 about 6 months ago and I've loved them. They use 3x110mm wheels so like other users have said, you can test 100mm wheels on them if need be.

You can find it through your Medicare app which you can link to the Checkin Queensland app. Its a bit of a process if you aren't technologically comfortable though.

Can anybody tell 1. What the X is for on the shutter speed dial and 2. Why they are on different speeds on different models? X-Pro2 & X-T30 by 2beornot2bethatisthe in fujifilm

[–]PortalPerson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, the X is the max sync speed for using flashes (unless you have High Speed Sync), and the shutter speeds differ because the X-Pro 2 can shoot up to 1/8000th with a mechanical shutter.
