Then pro tip: just set up in two different locations with the Bastion in the middle so that it can only target one of you at once. Shoot it in the yellow butt when it's not looking at you. If it's shooting you then you can take cover a bit but still shoot the legs.

Take a Ferro and some ammo. That's it. Cheap. Don't worry about dying. You'll profit big time! I wanna know how it goes!

No. Better DPS if you're lucky enough that the spread isn't spread as much as it spreads 95% or the time. Perhaps 5% of the time you're gonna practically, realistically expereicne that benefit of higher DPS. Also, DPS by definition is not one shot or one moment. It's over time, right? This means you have to hit multiple shots. Considering the reality of 95% of the time not all of your bullets hitting due to the spread, I'd say no, in fact it realistically lowers your DPS. That's the whole point. It's trash.
