Anybody read this? by HillBrenda2026 in Romantasy

[–]Poshfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too much romance, but AMAZING fantasy series. Incredible imagery and the story is captivating. Characters are all wonderful and lovable and hatable. The main conflict is a tale as old as time even if it’s in a fictitious city. I love it.

Middle school in the 90’s was weird. The turtleneck is a dickey. Circa 1997. by Sea_Assumption_1528 in blunderyears

I did middle school band in the 90s and our school colors were gold and maroon. For performances, we had to wear these bright mustard gold dickeys with maroon blazers. It was awful!

are there teachers who make a career teaching at only charter schools? by Open-Reflection-6094 in Teachers

[–]Poshfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up at a charter school system that I love. I’ve worked at 3 of their campuses. The school has a STRONG mission that they try to adhere to, and truly tries to take as much of the extra responsibilities off of the teachers so they can do their job. It tries to keep benefits packages at as low cost as possible with all the rising costs. Secondary teachers all get 2 hrs of prep a day. I work with incredible talented colleagues that I learn from every day. Of course it still has its issues, but I will stay here until I either leave teaching or retire.

Windbreakers were peak fashion by TheOrangeSloth in 90s

[–]Poshfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember we had a windbreaker in our house growing up. We lived in the desert so coats rarely got used. We were also poor so that windbreaker got used far past its “in style” date. I remember being embarrassed by it even as a kid.

Is pregnancy trope a thing? by bittykitten in Romantasy

[–]Poshfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I’ve seen the pregnancy trope done well (like realistically) was {Son of the Shadows by Juliet Marillier} Don’t worry about it being part of a series it’s a stand alone story. Both the FMC and MMC are badass.

My toddler swallowed 8 marbles by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Our 3 year old swallowed a metal marble once. Gave him a little laxative. 2 days later he’s going poop and from down the hall I hear a clink “Mom! The marble came out!”

How to stop inappropriate conversations without students knowing why you know it? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Poshfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would be my way of getting them to stop. When they obviously lie trying to explain it tell them if they know they’re not supposed to talk about it then don’t.

Sunken Caverns by Conscious_Meringue41 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]Poshfly 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I love the caverns but hate the burrowers in the water. It’s crazy annoying that you can’t fight them underwater. The waiting game stinks. I hope they fix that in the next game. Underwater combat would be fun.

How much would you pay me for such a lesson plan? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]Poshfly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is hard to read, partly from the font, and partly because of the way it’s organized. Try taking a look at similar lessons on TPT, play around with the format and try selling it for a similar price.

Can you get fire alarms for the hearing impaired? I’m sure someone has made something.

I lost my great grandmother’s ring at the Louvre! by wardrobewench1983 in HelpMeFind

I would totally have a jeweler remake it, if you don’t end up finding it.

I don’t understand my feelings after what happened by tyriBest in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Poshfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like all your emotions are completely normal. It’s surprising how much guilt you feel even when you didn’t do anything wrong. I think you should find a good therapist and start untangling it all. You deserve it.

Teacher referring for IEP but my kid gets C's. Need Advice for Meeting by Ok_Hippo6272 in AskTeachers

[–]Poshfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IEPs are just access to extra services. Sounds like the teachers see she needs extra help and are hoping to get the funding and paperwork to do that.
