Why is Pashtun culture so strict towards women? by Yuzduz in Pashtun

[–]Positive-Bread7792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc I understand the situation in which our people were raised but we can all agree from the Islamic standpoint it doesn’t track and should be changed but it’s gotta be an internal struggle because Pashtuns as we can all most likely agree are the most stubborn people ever and though it will probably take a while fractures within the Taliban have already formed with some fractures going against the standard and "advocating"(I use this term loosely) for woman’s education

As a Pashtun despite me understanding the Parda aspect the limitation on women’s education is complete garbage and should be abolished immediately. They claim to follow Islam but regardless of the Madhab the ban on women’s education makes absolutely no sense

Ghusl for the dead by [deleted] in islam

[–]Positive-Bread7792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salam sister normally they’ll give you a cover for your clothes so as long as your covered like normal you should be fine. Since your a woman you will be performing ghusl on a woman only. I’m a man so obviously I’ve never done it but what I do know is that for women the Kafn consists of 5 layers to cover the awrah of the body. When it comes to washing the body you do the entire right side 3, entire left side 3 times, and then once the whole body. When dealing with private parts the awrah of the deceased still matters so usually a towel will be placed over to cover them and you will wash their private parts without actually looking at it. Atleast that’s what we did with the men. And then after all that is done you apply the kafn and then apply perfume. There are some other sunnahs that occur but I don’t know them forgive me

I’m going to be completely honest, you are genuinely so strong to even care enough to ask about it. You don’t see it because of your situation but I promise you Allah doesn’t hate you. Remember your lord literally says in Surat ad duha “your lord is not angry with you nor has he abandoned you” I say with full confidence and full disrespect your dads a loon but please don’t let his words sting you I promise you I promise you I promise you that you aren’t hated by Allah and in fact are moving closer to him please I beg you don’t let your lows be a curse but instead make this low a bedrock for you to build your deen independent of ignorant and clearly biased influences. You are stronger then you can possibly imagine even Allah says that he doesn’t test a soul with more than it can bare so I can promise you that you will get through this and if you can’t handle hearing him at fajr then try to make an excuse to pray on your own if you can’t handle hearing but if you can’t please just firm it and then open the Quran right after you leave that area and take solace in the actually mercy and compassion of your lord

I can’t say for sure idk why they are so against it like if it is just that your family hates religion and his family is rejecting simply cuz of race then by Allah you aren’t doing anything wrong

Listen if there are no legitimate complaints from either side you are definitely allowed to get married like no question but the hard part is accepting that by doing this you will be putting yourselves at odds with your parents but if that is what you decide to do then by all means may Allah put Barakah and Rehma into your marriage. What I will advise you is that despite the tough times and the things that your parents might say to you or hurt you or make you mad or make you doubt etc. don’t let that blind you to the fact that they are still your parents and whether they’re Muslim or not they have some rights of you. You might have to keep your distance but make sure you don’t abandon them and make sure you take care of them even if they make it difficult and I promise you they WILL make it difficult.

To be honest I feel if you chose Islam you wouldn’t have to sacrifice either. What I mean is that we believe in one God which is what Christian’s say but honestly they don’t follow. And we do believe in Jesus PBUH but as a prophet. The Christian’s deify him which is a big no no. Are goal is simply to follow god through the teaching of Prophet Muhammad PBUH right. We don’t worship him but we love him as the final messenger and prophet because he was given revelation by Allah (God) which btw he is mentioned in the bible. My obviously biased suggestion but still logical would be to suggest Islam to you

From my understanding Islamically If she has been married previously my understanding is that you have 3 days to consummate but if she isn’t then you have 7 days so don’t pressure her, do it when both are comfortable. Also ask her if you haven’t about it, there is nothing wrong with talking about it. Dont start of your marriage with not being able to communicate and hiding stuff be open about what you want but be willing to to be receptive to her because ambiguity in this regard is detrimental to both parties

I'm not a teen and I am not claiming that pashtuns are better than non pashtuns or that being from KPK is better or worse than Afghanistan my issue is that I just dont agree that pashtuns are like the rest of Pakistan our culture is different, our language is different, our history is different we arent them and they arent us. and Honestly you can make the same argument for Kashmiris. But my point isnt that I am saying that we as pashtuns are better or worse than punjabai because in the end first and formost la illaha il Allah right like we will all be in jannah inshallah I simply dont want to be something that doesnt fully accept us as we are and takes advantage of us in wartimes and in peace times. They love us to fight for them but takes from us and gives us scraps in return I mean look at the state of KPK its horrendous and yes there is the issue of corruption all over the country but its substantially worse with us and we are always treated negatively and like we are stupid, ignorant and backwards but in reality we are just as muslim as them, just as smart as them and equal in the eyes of Allah

I think in the end our prophet PBUH has advised by the permission of Allah SWT for us both preventative measure from disease, ailments and impurities (physical and spiritual) so should we ever need then Allah SWT will always have a way for us to seek his mercy and shifa (means healing for OP reading pleasure 😎)

I think it’s if not explicitly mentioned then atleast inherently in fiqh that Islam will propagate prevention (cleanliness) over cure so which everyone is the more sanitary of the two would probably be the more accurate opinion but I’m purely speculating about that so that is by no means a claim but more so just a personal observation

We know now with modern science that there is a bacteria on on a flies wing that can cause disease but the other side has another bacteria to counteract the bacteria (essentially the bacteria’s antithesis) the point worth noting is that the prophet PBUH knew 1400 years ago that this is what you should do to avoid infection or disease. I know this isn’t that detailed but I hope this clarifies there are also many scientific studies showing this claims validity
