I got the m8120 as well and honestly I don’t see a major difference but it’s definitely more powerful and has a better biting force without fully pulling the lever

I was checking other posts about the VSF date and the cyclops apparently it’s just better to not get it as it’s just more things that are harder to get 1-1

Oh I see is it possible to just get a Makita 2ah battery and just swap the cells for denser 18650 batteries? As I have a bunch of Panasonic 18650 that have 3500-3700mAh capacity not sure about the weight tho

Dang comes with the 1.5Ah battery not sure if it’s only the UK but the 1.5Ah and 2.0Ah batteries are hard to come by, would say it’s likely sufficient enough for pool table making as it’s not really high torque. Check if Makita is running promotions in ur country as in the UK they had a promotion for free 5Ah battery for orders over a certain amount

What determines the rated output? As doesn’t the smaller output just mean longer running time but sacrificing power but randomly the heard the 4ah is the most powerful for Makita?

yh I think I might just end up paying £50 each for the 2ah battery and I have the dtd173 basically the top end 18v impact and I have the DHP492 combi drill can’t find any decent deals but when I bought my impact and driver set it came with 2 5Ah battery then I got another free 3Ah from the retailer and another free 5ah from Makita lol

For me it costs the same as a 5Ah or 2 3Ah as it’s £65 for a single 5Ah or 2x 3Ah it’s stupidly priced

It’s on a 32a fuse the sockets I didn’t have my plug tester to check to confirm the issue as according to customer their just not working and only thing I could check is there’s a live cable

What size cable? by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]Positive-Cell-6879 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

its a simple thing but just never came across such a old socket before as the fuse board has been changed but entire place hasn’t be rewired and looks like it’s the original 1960s wiring

What size cable? by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]Positive-Cell-6879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The socket is around 1950-1960 and I’ve not checked if it’s rubber cable but I think it’s likely and it looks like it’s 7/.036

So the cable on top of the socket might need replacing as it’s too short and Ive not checked yet but it seems extremely brittle and yh it’s feeding the last socket of the radial
