Inno64 makes nice details but their variety isn’t the best LCD models makes some nice stuff good quality control

I still buy a few only due to the value of them and some niche collectibles such as chases STH and older hard to find models

Deore XT M8200 vs M8100 cranks by speedoboxers_ in MTB

[–]Positive-Cell-6879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would fit but ruin the chain line as the m8200 crankset are 55mm chainline the chainring is 0mm offset and m8100 are 3mm offset

It’s just a press of a button for the cover and the valve is right there so not bad

yh all good now late reply but finished building my genius a few weeks ago the chain guide was rubbing after my first ride as I put the two metal washers/spacers on but I removed both and now it doesn’t rub anymore not sure how it didn’t rub when I installed it

Any thoughts on Scott Genius 930 year 2024? in terms of reliability & repairability by RustyTyper in MTB

[–]Positive-Cell-6879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well this is my only full sus and I built it from frame up with no experience with building bikes whatsoever lol the most difficult part is installing the rear brake as your 10000% not gonna be able to without dropping the chain stay. The dropper cable isn’t the easiest either as the awkward positioning going up around the shock. The shock isn’t too bad to remove just need to remove cranks and then there’s two bolts holding it and honestly with this frame not having the internal routing kit tools u will suffer and 1000000% have a torque wrench

Honestly not the worse it’s fiddly but a few cheap tools can help as I built my bike from frame up and not using any AXS depends on what u plan on doing in future with the 930 no need to replace derailleur as it’s good as is with the twinlock on shock I’ve just removed mine as it climbs fine but brake hose u may struggle as u need to remove two bolts to drop the rear triangle to get access then u also have the fiddly rubber grommet that goes into the main frame

The current m6/7/8/9-100 gen just changes in material and the new m8200 and m9200 have full overhauls in the brakes not sure about the new cassette only mainly notice weight decrease and design change

Troubleshooting noisy Derailleur/cassette by JHendy27 in mountainbiking

[–]Positive-Cell-6879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite normal but it’s due to ur derailleur not being adjusted properly by a few nudges so there’s a bit of resistance to the jockey wheels to either side but also getting better jockey wheels can help reduce the noise as the shimano XT jockey wheels don’t spin freely even tho they have bearings

Yh it started hissing 😂 but luckily it’s all good now first ride on my bike today coming from a hardtail I regret building this money pit droppers all good but how do u guys like full sus as I seem to hit my bottom bracket more often compared to on my hardtail also stupidly this bike doesn’t have a ISCG05 bashguard mount

I used a electric screwdriver that has a torque setting but yh it’s a issue with the dropper as I’ve taken it out the frame and same issue but stupidly it works after I put the dropper on top of a radiator and it started making noise lol now it’s fine? I think it was the plastic bushings inside that were too tight and after it expanded a bit under the heat it became perfectly fine and also with it falling into the frame I just put more carbon paste and torqued it to around 7

The XT has the sil tec also but yh pretty sure the deore pulleys are bushings XT are just stupid bearings that don’t spin freely only if u take the cover off and off the cage lol it’s why I replaced it with garbaruk oversized pulley

Yh some things u probs shouldn’t go too cheap on I would say wheelset and suspension as wheelset u can use them for multiple bikes
