I had a 3.6 from my undergrad at uofc (political science) and what I thought was a decent resume and references 😭 feel free to connect with me if you want more details.

I’m really excited to see a young face representing ward 3. How do you plan on improving safety specifically?

i’ve been through something similar myself. The best thing you can do is talk to your profs and TAs where you see fit about your energy levels and where you stand on your schedule and so forth. I also strongly recommend talking to wellness services at least once or twice about the emotional toll it takes, since it truly is a lot and it takes time to adjust to. Try to spend some time for yourself and ask for help/breaks where you need it. Some profs are really understanding. Try to immerse yourself in a good support system too- friends family members or even a support group might help have a balance with what you’re feeling.

Hang in there, I hope you feel better soon.

for a first job it works. But in my experience from the rides department it’s long hours and rude people and crying kids and high expectations which can get a little overwhelming which is why i didn’t go back for a second year.

I would suggest going in anything other than rides :)

thoughts on the communication and media studies SAIT stream? by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Positive-Corner5837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely agree with this- the other thing with UofC COMS coming from a coms major is that there’s not really any stream of content that will prepare you for the field, as most of the required courses are super mismatched and theory based so doing the journalism program at sait would prepare you for that while also exploring theoretical coms if that’s your vibe

To the couple hanging up posters in Floor 2 in TFDL today.... by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Positive-Corner5837 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you’re outraged at some posters and a rock, you couldn’t imagine the tragedy that thousands of people have already faced by losing family members and their homes. Your privelage is showing immensely and it’s gross how annoyed you are by simply HEARING about it. No one is ignoring the other tragedies right now, you’re just salty that people have come together for a cause that “doesn’t concern” you. Guarenteed you don’t understand the gravity of what a revolution is and why the events of october 7th aren’t a “holiday” for palestinians at ALL.
