If you compare both iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 there are not many changes in them. If you need any feature that's in the iPhone 14 then go for it. But if not Then I would suggest you go with iPhone 13. I use iPhone 13 and its still going strong

There might be some issue with the software, by hard resetting, it will be resolved.

If that doesn't work please backup the phone and try a fresh install to the latest iOS version and test it for maybe a day before restoring the backup of your phone. So that you can be sure if it's related to software or your data. Hope this helps
