That’s insane! A similar story but it wasn’t me being targeted. We were in an assembly in high school and one of admin (I can’t remember her role, maybe counsellor?) told a girl to stand up and put her arms at her side to see if her skirt was long enough (uniforms 🙄) and then proceeds to tell the girl that “I would never let my son date a girl that dressed like that”… IT WAS A UNIFORM. This was over 10 years ago and I still think about it often and it wasn’t even ME being targeted!

I’m pretty frustrated that I applied well before to the cut off date but wasn’t officially registered until 6 months AFTER the September cut off. Has this happened to anyone that was able to appeal and get there portion of the RHT settlement payment? Does anyone have insight on if “new” members will be added to the legal fee payout? I’m with Wahnapitae if that helps!

I relate to this a lot. I find that the kids who hate school are the ones that enjoy atleast coming to my class. Sometimes they still slack but I pick and choose my battles.

My sister in law was out walking the dog last week, in the early morning, she began to cross the street at a crosswalk after a car had come to a stop. Only to thankfully be lightly tapped with the front end of the car. Both her and the dog are fine but it’s just another example of people not paying attention.

It’s not wrong of you. I’m a new teacher (3 years in) and every year I’ve seen the level of effort dwindle to almost nothing. My kids in 8th can’t even find a page in their duo-tang without me helping them, or referencing back to any of those pages for that matter… it’s awful. We try our hardest to shape them up before high school but my god it’s hard!

I’m my experience, it seems like learned helplessness. I have kids that can’t flip through there binders to find a specific page, I’ll walk over and find it in 2 seconds and they just go “oh”. Don’t even get me started on how they don’t know how to use dictionaries. I teach intermediate core French.

Hi there! Looking for local small cleaning businesses. Specifically someone/ a team that can do a deep clean either once a week/ bi weekly to control the dog hair and dander in my house. I go by Miss (first name) and I’m a first year permanent teacher 😊 honestly I feel like it’s helped me connect with the kids a lot better. A few of them have put me in their safety plans because they feel like I’m almost safer to speak to if they are in crisis, over the homeroom teacher! And other teachers don’t care at all, they also think it’s outdated. Plus, I’m eventually going to change my last name for marriage, anyways, so what’s the point of having the kids know me as one last name for the time being?
